Report: Police probe Harrison in Philadelphia shooting

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison is under investigation in his hometown of Philadelphia in a shooting that took place late Tuesday afternoon, a source close to the investigation told Anthony Gargano of Philadelphia's WIP Radio.

The shooting reportedly occurred outside a North Philadelphia bar owned by Harrison.

Harrison has yet to be arrested or charged with the crime.

The source said the alleged victim came into the bar, Playmakers, around 5 p.m. and engaged in an argument with Harrison, who was at the bar. The victim then left the bar, heading to his car, with Harrison following. Gunfire broke out, the victim was hit in the hand, and a young girl was slightly injured by flying glass from a car that apparently was hit by a bullet.

Police came to scene, but the victim did not identify a shooter. On Wednesday, according to the source, ballistic tests showed that the gun that had fired the shots was a custom-made Belgian weapon, and police determined that Harrison owned such a gun.

Police then went to a Philadelphia car wash owned by Harrison to question him about the gun. Harrison admitted owning such a weapon, but claimed it never left his suburban Philadelphia home.

However, the source said the gun was discovered in a bucket at the car wash, and tests showed that it had fired seven bullets that matched those found at the scene.

The source said police were contacted Friday by an attorney representing a second alleged victim in the shooting, and police are now waiting for that individual to come forward.

Calls from ESPN to reach Harrison, his agent and the Colts for comment had not been returned.
Talk about out of left field, wtf Harrison. Still waiting for details before fully forming an opinion, but still.

I just posted in the NFL thread, but like you say, I want to wait and hear the full circumstances, but I'm feeling horrible, Marvin was the reason I became a Colts fan.

I'd rather not see the guy get in trouble of course, but if he did something stupid and criminal, then he deserves what's coming to him. I'm not calling him guilty yet, I'll wait for further details.

The Colts can and will win Super Bowls without Marvin Harrison, regardless.

Has much as I love watching Marvin Harrison catching balls from Peyton Manning, if he as any involvement with this then he deserves to be suspended by the league and released by the Colts. We can not allow a player especially a player as high vise as Marvin to bring a bad image to a franchise that prides itself on being high character/ family team. But still I will support Marvin till proving guilt...I pray that he had nothing to do with this.

Marvin is THE LAST person I would expect this from.

I truely hope he is innocent.

Not yet, and it's been well over a month now. I'd just to see this be over with, one way or another.

heck of an article by three espn reporters. marvin had been kinda my ideal football player. i always wanted to play like him, the article made me realize that i was just projecting my own image on him because he was too quiet to project his own thugness. it's sad, he was my favorite receiver of all time. i would have defended him over jerry rice any day, but i just don't care about him now.

Maybe this will be another reason to release him.
