  • I just don't see TJ just being a spell back he is to good for that JC will start and get the ball more but TJ is going to be getting a good amount of touches.

Could you please make that TJones. We already had a TJ--on defense. So "TJones" and "TJax".

        • I don't think it's going to be split 50/50. I honestly think it'll be something like 75/25 with Jamaal getting the bulk.

Everyone can see how explosive he is.. there is no reason to be behind anyone on the depth chart and it'd be utterly stupid to take away touches from someone who is a threat every time he touches the ball.

There were injury concerns but mainly because we had no one behind him to spell him and keep the defenses honest. We have that now.

Thomas Jones is not going to get a significant bulk of the carries.

          • Why run him in to the ground like the Chiefs did LJ?

I would like to have JC around for awhile, it makes no sense to over work him when you have Jones and Dexter.

I don't think any one is saying JC won't start or won't get the ball the most but I think it will be a 60/40 spilt.

Yes the guy is tough but he is also only 200 pounds he can't keep taking the work load he did last year.

I don't see any way he is not the starter as for how much TJ will involved that depends on who you ask, I believe he is going to get a good hand full of touches.

As for McCluster he has put in alot of work in the slot he will be moved around alot from what I understand but I feel the slot will be is biggest role.

I expect J Charles to average 16-18 carries a game. Jones in the 10-14 range. A 60-40 split. If Charles gets 240 carries on the season and average 4.4 yards per carry (a middle of the road expectation) he will have 1000 yards. I also expect him to get about 30-40 receptions for another 250-320 yards. I am just being a little realistic and short sided for him. I wouldn't be shocked if he gets 1600 yard from scrimmage. With the touches I projected I see him getting 10 TDs.

So on a realstic level: 1000 yards rushing, 250 yards receiving, 10 overall Tds. A top 10 RB, fantasy wise?

I could have said 1200 yards rushing, 500 yards receiving and 15 overall tds. But i dont want to be a homer :)

We've upgraded the two biggest trouble spots along our offensive line and brought in a RB who can run the ball when JC needs a rest (something we didn't have last year).. I expect JC to be even more explosive and a better overall running back than he was last year. Will that translate to better production? Absolutely.

Could be the homer in me, but I'm expecting a BIG year for him.
Thanks for all the feedback guys! Ill try and rep you all. Good luck to the Chiefs this year!! And especially Jamaal Charles.

                  • Sorry to see Kolby Smith go, but the writing was on the wall. I am a bit surprised they cut Gut so soon, but not surprised he did not make the team.

In the past, the team has stated that they wanted to give players as much warning as possible, so that they could catch on with other teams. Maybe that is the case here.
