I don't really have a problem with that and I really don't expect him to play better then he did before he got his hot streak.

I still hope we trade Delgado. It makes a ton of sense buisness wise. He's got what? 1-2 more years max with us? Why not trade him at his highest value and get some much needed help in other places? We can easily replace his offense + more by signing Manny in LF. That also leaves 1B open, which provides a place for Murphy. If the value isn't there in a trade, it's a no-brainer to pick this option up anyway. We should still get Manny.

    • I'm not a fan of giving Manny a big contract, for long term. Thats apparently what he wants, even saying A-Rod money, not that he will necessarily get that.

      • Dirty, you better calm it down in the MLB thread. JBond said that saying "c** burpers" is infraction worthy.

I've already racked up two for making fun of the Phillies. I need to find something that explains the Phillies homosexual tendecies that won't get me infracted. I think it would fly in a PG-13 movie. http://draftcountdown.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10018

I wanted Huston Street badly but I'm more than happy settling for Brian Fuentes if we can get him.

Am I the only one who would like to sign Randy Johnson?

If K-Rod's demands aren't as much as we thought I'd rather him than Fuentes. No on Johnson as we don't need yet another older injury prone player especially at SP. There are much better options to fill out the rotation.

                • Bullpen, Bullpen, Bullpen, BULLPEN.

                  That's my whole wish list.

I don't mind adding a decent starter also and maybe another bat, but it's pretty clear what's our Number 1 priority.

K-Rod or Fuentes? Who else you like besides them?

                    • Obviously, I prefer K-Rod, but if his asking price is outrageous, then Fuentes might be the better choice.

Closer alone doesn't solve our bullpen problem. I think we might need 3 'pen arms.

Not bad at all, really. I'd put Flores over Niese though. Also, Jenrry Mejia should be in the top ten, I'd say. 18 year old who hasn't filled out that has an absolutely nasty fastball. I mean, he's much younger than Pelf and already has a fastball in the upper 90's. Kid is going to be a stud.

                          • Yeah, I'm very high on Mejia as well.

That high-90s heater might not even be his best pitch. That 12-6 hammer of his is NASTY whenever he throws it for strikes (needs work with that).

Absolutely, he throws a good curve. If he can develop some other plus pitches in addition to his fastball and curve he could be a hell of a starter. If not he could be a future close with that fast ball and curve.

A lot of people thing Rustich could be a future closer. I think he shattered his hand though? He's supposed to be like 6'10, and has a superb fastball though.
