Definitely does. I was even a LITTLE worried about the Bills game. Not too worried but if things are looking good I assume something will go wrong. We'll see what happens, that Moss trade certainly doesn't help. That offense is going to be pretty sick when Rice comes back and they can bring out Moss, Rice, Harvin, Schiancoe, and AD. Glad we're missing that at least.

Unless we see them in Dallas that is ;)

      • Is Revis annoying anyone else lately? After his hold out, going on about how he didn't want to hold out because he's a team leader, and going on about how he's the best corner in the NFL every second sentence, to having his twitter page be a sell out to motorola, to being injured but still talking crap about Randy Moss and other players...

*shrug*, maybe it's just me. But here's a guy that used to be my favorite player on the team, who is now someone I wish would just shut up and play.

I agree 100%. Revis holds out forever, even though the Mangold situation showed that the Jets would be willing to negotiate with players even if they were in camp. Then he talks a ton of crap and gets injured probably because he wasn't in the best condition, leaving Boldin to dominate. Then he continued to say he wouldn't come back until he was 100%, then gets burned and complains that he was still hurt. I'm just a little fed up with his attitude overall. I hope Cro continues to play like a beast to give Revis a little humility.

          • Yeah, I liked Revis a lot more before this season.

How good does everybody think this team is? I thought the Jets I know and (despite knowing them) love would have lost that game against the Vikings. However, there's a lot of time left for us to see the "same old Jets". Regardless, I'm impressed with how the team is able to overcome mistakes and injuries and still win the game. Not turning the ball over in four straight wins is also damn impressive. Should be an interesting one in Denver this week against the Kyle Orton led passing offense that's dominating right now. I'm curious to see what gameplan Rex and Pettine come up with defensively. Hoping for another big game from the offense too.

              • That was an ugly, ugly win. But I'll take it. So much for this team to work on...the fact that they've got that record heading into the bye week is impressive. They've got to play well these next few weeks, because that week 11-16 schedule is brutal.

                • Great to get a win on a day when we didnt play particularly well. Bye week should be huge to get healthy and prepared for GB. IMO we need to go 2-1 or 3-0 coming out of the bye

Hell, the rest of our schedule other than week 17 is tough. Even our "easy" games (Lions and Browns) are away games, and the Lions will have Stafford back... That team could easily be 3 and 3 now instead of 1 - 5.

The Cleveland game is the only game I can honestly sit here and say I'm not that worried about until we get the Bills at home.

I absolutely agree with you, the rest of the schedule should be really tough. The Bengals are terrible this year though, although they have a lot of talent on that team and could turn it around. The defense is good and they've got talent at some positions on offense, but the OL can be suspect and Palmers been playing terribly. That game I think could be coupled with the Browns and Lions, who have been playing really well this year. But I figured I'd throw out something other than the rest of the season. The Jets and the Bills usually split too, so I wouldn't look past that one either. They'll definitely want to play spoiler if in a position to do so. But this team is talented enough to win a good portion of those games and make the playoffs.

                          ^ Packers @ Jets Preview ^

I have the Jets winning 31-17.

Excuses aside, you know your team would be worse if you were missing the same guys as we are.

Besides Al Harris, Atari Bigby, and James Starks being on the PUP the whole season so far, we have these guys on IR, done for the season:
                          #1 RB Ryan Grant
                          #1 TE Jermichael Finley
                          #1 ILB Nick Barnett
                          #2 OLB Brad Jones
                          #3 OLB Brady Poppinga
                          #2 S Morgan Burnett
                          #4 S/#1 ST Derrick Martin
                          #3 DE Mike Neal

I'm forgetting 1 or 2 others on IR, plus we have DE Cullen Jenkins probably gonna miss his 2nd straight game, and NT/DE Ryan Pickett his 2nd straight game.

Clay Matthews missed 1 1/4 game, which most believe was the reason we lost both of those games in OT by a FG. He's about where Revis was with the hammy, 2 weeks ago.

I see no way in hell our depleted DL/LB core can contain your running game. There's no reason that LT + Shonn Greene can't combine for 200+ yards.

If he plays, Dustin Keller should be able to expose our depleted LBers, and I expect Santonio Holmes to exploit the slowing down, turf-toed Charles Woodson. Woodson is good for at least 2 penalties Sunday. Revis also gets away with his share of illegal contact. Both guys are capable of making game-changing plays, even if they are hobbled a bit in the toe and hamstring.

Our special teams is horse****. Our kicker has a huge leg, but hasn't made a game-winning kick since his first game of his career in 2007. Our punter choked in OT, costing us 20 yards in field position, which led to our game-losing FG.

Our coverage units have breakdowns all the time. If you still had Leon Washington, I'd bet $$$ that he'd pop one for a touchdown.

Our return units don't know how to block.

I think our punt returner is still Tramon Williams, who without question, has been our best cover CB, far better than Chuck Woodson has been. We need to get Tramon off that punt return team. But our GM refuses to draft/sign a specialist for those units.

I like the way your team is aggressive in assembling a team.
                          Tomlinson
                          Braylon
                          Holmes
                          Tomlinson
                          Cromartie
                          Taylor
                          Bart Scott

ALL of those guys are solid moves, critical, and NONE of them would ever me made by our tight-wad, ONLY-DRAFT GM Ted Thompson. He refuses to add talent in any manner other than the draft, or signing scrubs, no names.

He could have had a legit kick returner in Ted Ginn for a last day pick. Could have filled Ryan Grant's shoes with Marshawn Lynch for about a #90 draft pick.

I got ripped by a few TT-loving Packer kool-aid drinkers when I said that the Jets improved their team tremendously while our guy let our team go stale and not improve. I made a case for Antonio Cromartie, but some Packer punks thought that if the Chargers were willing to let him go, he must not be any good anymore! Nice logic.

Oakland let Woodson go. Let Randy Moss go to New England. Kurt Warner was let go. Marshall Faulk was let go by Indianapolis. He did okay in St Louis. Jerome Bettis was let go by the Rams. I think the Steelers didn't mind what they got.

You guys turned the page in 2009 from the Favre experiment to a rookie, and you made the AFC title game and now are atop the AFC standings. And it's because of being aggressive off the field as well as on the field. I respect and commend the way the Jets run their team!

I just hope my prediction is 180 degrees wrong this Sunday!

                          • I thought they might come out flat today but this has been really, really bad. Almost like the Baltimore game all over again in terms of how inept they've been on offense.

It's exactly like the Baltimore game only this time we are actually trying.

Kind of, it still seemed like the Packers just brought more effort to the game to me. Those two picks should've been catches if our WR's go after it like the Green Bay DB's did, the offensive line didn't open up nearly enough holes in the run game, and we basically gave them 6 of their 9 points. If Folk makes the FG and they don't go for that early 4th down we could easily be talking about a game that was 3-3 heading into OT.

Sanchez wasn't good, but I think the receivers were worse. Lots of drops too, that Holmes one was awful and Cotchery's hands wwere worse than usual. Didn't like any of the downfield throws to J-Co, he's a move the chains type most of the time and it clearly wasn't working. Still, decision making from Sanchez wasn't good, I didn't like the playcalls, wanted Greene in there more. The holding calls were killers too.
