  • Walker agreed to a "major" restructuring of his contract

Walker eliminated a $5M roster bonus and had his 2009-10 salaries guaranteed, though they were lowered. He's essentially got a new five-year, $16.4M deal, a huge step down from the six-year, $55M contract he signed 366 days ago. The Raiders appear to be hoping that Walker regains his speed over time. His knee problems are chronic and he's 31, however, making that unlikely. Walker's return definitely won't take Oakland out of the running for T.O.

Right move by Walker.now hope fully we can use that extra cap space to bring in Barnes and some other players.

This is great news. Saves us money to go after another OT,C, WR and defense.

Hey, Raiders FO actually did something right. Hopefully this trend continues when the draft rolls around.

The team is really buying into Cable's team-first philosophy. Big props to the FO for getting all this done.
