  • Can Raiders run spread offense?

Look at all the athletes the Raiders have on offense. DHB is incredibly fast (and tall), Murphy is quick, tall and comes from a spread, Higgins is as quick as they come, Schilens and Shields are tall and fast. Then you have a guy like McFadden who is a slasher, can line up in the slot, and just as athletic as anyone, and even Bush can line up in the slot. If you need athletes for a spread offense, the Raiders have some of the best. Are the Raiders going to move to a spread-type offense?

Are the Raiders able to do this?

    Oldie but a goodie.

KC did it with a shaky O-line and a suspect QB. We have both of those things. So, in theory...maybe?
My sig pic has now come full circle. Lucky me.

No offense, but your Raiders draft sucks.

In passing downs. We need to run the ball on 1st down. And either run it again or playaction on 2nd

Didn't JaMarcus play in a spread at LSU? Or did it just have a few wrinkles of the spread?

It was mostly a pro-style offense.

They could pull if off for a little while but then teams would catch up that is what happen to the Chiefs they played great in the first half then at half time DC would have them figured out.

Russell's really not the kind of a QB needed for a spread offense.

The Cards benched Leinart in favor of Warner.

Could Russell get benched in favor of Garcia?

You got it backwards for the Cards boss but it could happen, it depends on how well they both do. Russell will have to really blow it though.

What LSU ran was about as close to a spread offense as the NFL is going to see for a while, stylistically.

If Oakland's offensive line allows Oakland to move their skill guys around, it could work. That said, at this point, I'm still expecting that Oakland's going to have to do more protecting than attacking at the key points in the game, which is going to squeeze the talent players closer to the ball and give the defense the advantage.

Indeed. Oakland still needs a LT and RG, so I wouldn't expect many empty backfield plays.
