  • I just saw on ESPN that he's going to sign in September or something? Whatfuckingever, he probably wont show up until like a week before the season starts and think he'll be good enough to beat out Josh Morgan.

With that said, we just gotta keep rolling forward. Michael Crabtree embodies everything that is wrong with NFL Football.

I for one was not a fan of the rookie pay scale. But, now I see that we desperately need one.

      • I still have the excitement for what he can bring to the team, but I think most of us thought he wouldn't be making huge contributions from Day 1; so while him not showing up is upsetting, I just don't feel like we are missing out too much.

Yeah, I read in some article (I'll try and find it) that we should look at Crabtree as someone who just isn't there. We have a very talented WR corps and Crabtree just makes it sexy, so we'll be fine looking pretty.

          • Playing the "devil's advocate" here, what if he shows up with a week or so left until the season and is good enough to beat out Morgan? You have to know he has a copy of the playbook and is working out on his own in some capacity.

I don't think Sing would care. Morgan won the spot fair and square and it will take a while for Crabtree to pass him in Sing's eyes.

              • Well, from what I've read, the coaching staff takes away all playbooks and similar paperwork from the players after mini-camps. He only has personal notes that he took during those mini-camps.

But hopefully someone has slipped him a playbook. Sounds like he doesn't have one though.
The Brian Sabean sig is no more. I disagreed with you on so many levels. And then you went out and built a dynasty. I am lame.

                • No, he does not have a playbook. Maiocco and Barrows have said numerous times that Raye does NOT let playbooks leave the team facilities, and all Crabtree can study are the notes he took during OTAs.

                    • On the other hand I like what I'm seeing with the the stick marks on the helmets of Coffee and Gore, but I'm scared of it as well.

                      • I didn't expect a rookie wide receiver to come in and do much in his first season anyhow. This training camp was to start getting him ready for next year with spot duty this season. What I worry about is how this affects his second year as he will be pretty much taking reps away from the guys in practice that will be counted on to win games this year and as such Crabtree may not be developed much this year at all. This could keep him from contributing much until his third year. (We won't know if he is truly bustilicious until his fourth year then)

I'd be just as happy trading him for a first rounder next year at this point since his development is going to be delayed and there is a really good chance he is just a putz anyhow. Maybe the Ravens would bite....

It's becoming increasingly difficult and ridiculously expensive to sign ONE first round pick. Do you realize the possible salary cap implications of having to sign THREE ???

                              • Hill didnt play much but I thought he was FAR more decisive than Smith. Outside that it wasnt that outstanding but it looked like Clayton blew an ACL or something, so welcome to the roster Kory Sheets. haha.
