Brady missed on some key passes. While the D wasn't great again- it allowed only 16 points.
Granted that was due to the offense eating up the clock. It just couldn't capitalize.
Edelman looked beastly though. I'd love to see them go 4 wide with Welker and him. One on each side of Brady.
-Boston Red Sox-New England Patriots-Boston Celtics-
The defense played pretty well. They played the standard bend-don't-break that the Pats have always thrived with. The defense had the offense in a position to take control of the game and run away with it. The big key to this game was the 8 points they left in the red zone early on.
They play calling has been bad, and the usage of their assets has been poor. They gave up on a running game that was working with Fred Taylor, they didn't use many 2 TE sets, they didn't use any 2 RB sets, and they gave up on going deep to Moss after the INT.
The best play the Pats have ever had was the double screen with Faulk & Pass because they could do so many things with it (fake it and go to another receiving option, go to Faulk one way or Pass the other, run a draw, run a reverse).... It's stupid that they don't run this play with Faulk and Sammy Morris (or get another RB to run it with Faulk)...
Another one that we've only ever seen a handful of times is the TE swing pass to Watson/Graham. When your little receivers are getting gobbled up on screens, why not run a screen to Watson and see if he can deter the defensive backs from being so physical with the other receivers...
