And Daisuke Matsuzaka is about to throw his first pitch for the Red Sox... and it's fouled off by David DeJesus!

Nice double play to get him out of the first! They aren't hitting him hard, that's the good news, and he's not missing by much...

Wow, Dice-K has definitely settled in, retired 9 straight and back to back strikeouts to open the fourth!

Zack Greinke has been unreal, too, though.

Daisuke is the man. Won't be posting much during the game. Want to drink it all in lol. But since that double play, he's looked very good.

They are starting to get to him here in the sixth. Nice strike 'em out throw 'em out that really bailed the Jap out, because Emil Brown followed up with a double that would have tied the game. I think he's going to get one more out and be done...

Well, the Jap is officially done for the day: 10K's, 1BB, 6H in 7IP. Great game. Couldn't have asked for more from any start, let alone is first. I am officially pumped!!

And we added two runs, with Coco Crisp finally getting on board with his first base hit. You could see the relief on his face. 4-1 in the 8th...

Jon Lester allowed one hit in four scoreless innings in his start for low Single-A Greenville on Thursday.

Lester will make three more starts in the South Atlantic League before the Red Sox reevaluate his status. He'll probably be sent to Triple-A Pawtucket once he's finished at Greenville.
                        Encouraging news!!

                          Good Lester news.
Even better Daisuke line. Really nice game. That double play was huge for him. After that, the Royals couldn't do anything against him.

Wakefield is not off to a good start here. Sammy Sosa just check swinged for an RBI single that just blooped right in the perfect spot behind second, and since Michael Young was off on contact, he scored from second. The Hank Blalock missed a three run HR by a few feet to the right of the foul pole before grounding out to end the inning two pitches later.

This is why I have always hated having Wakefield. When he's on, he is ON, and has flirted with no hitters more times than I can remember, but at the same time, his best pitch goes like 65 MPH.

Oh well, could be worse, only 1-0 Rangers after one...
