No, but we were up 31-12 with just over a minute left in the game and allowed the Raiders to score on a 99-yard drive in garbage time, which makes our defense look like it did a much worse job than it did on the stat sheet.

    • They gave up two big runs against the Raiders, but that front line of the Patriots is super-stout against the run. Especially when Haynesworth is in there. Statistically, they're middle of the pack, but I've been impressed with what I've actually seen.

I don't know about that if you consider HOW Oakland scored.

58 yard pass, 35 yard pass, 6 yard TD pass.

Prevent is supposed to keep the 58 and 35 from happening... And it took Oakland all of 40 seconds to go down the field and score.

        • TL;DR, we've got issue on that side of the ball. I hope they go away, but I'm not holding my breath personally.

            • So this is a huge, huge game obviously. I'm not even going to lie though; the Red Sox historic collapse has kind of stolen the show around here hype wise and it's been kind of hard to keep up with this game this week for me. I suppose it's been a pretty quiet week media wise in addition to that as well, but it's sort of disappointing to me that it doesn't feel like the spectacle that the last few have.

But yeah, huge game regardless of hype. I'm interested to see how we do running the ball on the Jets. The Jets did a good job containing the run on Baltimore for 3 quarters, but sort of broke down at the end AND had the advantage of knowing it was coming due to Joe Flacco's ineptitude last week. Defensively, the key will be to keep Sanchez in the pocket and get some hits on him. He's killed us when we've let him get outside of the rush and make an easy read. Stopping the run will be key too, but it would be nice if we ran into some turnovers this week from their pass game.

              • Am I the only one who's more nervous about Plaxico Burress than Santonio Holmes this week? I still have nightmares about the Super Bowl.

                • Plax doesn't scare me. Holmes does a bit, but yeah. Both of them should have very big games against our secondary, but I don't think they're a deciding factor in the game.

                  • Pretty healthy roster today. Hernandez and Fat Al make their returns, as does Dowling. Edelmen is inactive today, so it might be our first real good look at Taylor Price.

                      • I would love to see some Price out there on the field.

                        • Slater has returned in the past and it's possible he'll do it again. Price is possible too.

                              • Offense looks incredibly out of sync to me. Gronkowski looks like he lined up in the wrong spot a few times, stupid penalties (i.e. false start on outside receivers), things like that have stood out to me. That pick was on Hernandez. Need a much better 2nd half.
