  • Jeremiah Torttoe Works Out

    http://www.nfl.com/trainingcamp/stor...o&confirm=true

Out LB depth is probably our most solid on the defense already, so Trotter doesn't seem all too necessary, but he'd be a solid addition anyway.

edit: holy crap, did i misspell Trotter or what?

A starting linebacker core of Brooks- Trotter- Cato, would be very nice and give us one of the better LB core in the league,

Trotter is slow and he sucks. Still wouldn't be a bad signing if he was just a red zone/situational sort of player. Al Singleton worked out as well.

Outside maybe. Inside, I don't think they've worked Black there much and Nece stinks there, so this would be a decent move. Plus, Trotter would be our strongest run stopper in the entire LB unit, a weakness many are worried about. Wouldn't be the worst idea ever...

That's exactly how I see things. Right now we don't have the kind of depth at ILB that people think we have.

Trotter's asking for starter money, so the question would be who gets more playing time, Ruud or Trotter? I think it would be Ruud

I honestly think you would be better off with Ruud as your starter, but I guess he wouldn't be a horrible depth guy. Do you think he can play in a tampa 2 at this stage in his career? I think he would be better off going to a 3-4 team and just be a run stopper.

If we can grab him on the cheap as a obvious rushing down and goal line linebacker then I'm all for it.

I doubt he'd be satisfied or content going to an ill-suited system to be a goal line LB

Considering the amount of interest he is receiving he may not have a choice.

isnt Denver still the front runner to sign him?

Denver is not going to give him starter money either considering they have DJ Williams lined up as MLB.

He's a solid leader and will help us against ball control teams. I'm happy with the signing.
