  • Titans be gettin' dey Freak on!

Jevon Kearse agrees to terms with the Tennessee Titans!

Right now, a FA period may deserve a thread. But in this case, that FA is the motha' truckin' Freak! Y'know? The dude that tallied 47.5 Sacks in his 5 seasons with us! Now, I know it ain't the year 2000 (*says it in his La Bamba voice*), but still.

Kearse canceled a visit to Minnesota.

"I know the coaches,'' Kearse told The Tennessean. "And I like the scheme; this is the scheme I want to be in. ... Really, I am already looking forward to getting back out there with my good buddy Wash.

"... Being gone, I almost feel like I have been on vacation in some ways.''
The sentimentality of one of the key players from our glory days coming back to the team is awesome.

We still need some more help at DE, but this makes me happy.

The Kearse signing is a good one for us. However, with his injury history, I envision him as being more of a pass-rushing specialist and part-time player -- certainly NOT an every-down DE.

With that in mind, I think we still need to sign a DE who can play running downs and be in a DE-committee with Kearse -- whether that's Kevin Carter, Josh Thomas, Marquis Douglas, or Ellis Wyms. Then, I think we can wait and use a mid-to-late round pick on a DE to compete with last year's pick DE Jacob Ford, who's returning from a season-long injury.

I could be happy with this DE rotation:
          KVB (starter)
Marquis Douglas OR Kevin Carter (committee-starter)
          Jevon Kearse (committee-pass rushing specialist)
          Bryce Fisher (backup)
          Jacob Ford (backup)
          Mid-Round Rookie (backup)

I still think, however, as I've said all along, that DT is a need that we need to address EARLY in the draft. As last year showed, if Haynesworth gets injured, which he's almost sure to do, we don't have anyone who can stop the run (as Tony Brown is more of a pass-rushing DT).

TREVOR LAWSSSSSSSSSS atheltis enough to be a 3-4 DE so my guess is will be a perfect UT in a 4-3 which is what we need

I doubt Trevor Laws will be there when we pick in the second.

You could take him in the late first and not a lot of people would question it.

I think Id rather have Pat Sims or Kentwan Balmer.

i think kentwan balmer will be a bust personally and i think trevor laws is the third best DT in this draft

Yea I think Kentwan Balmer is a slight risk, but I think he gets more flack than he should just because of Ryan Sims.

We need depth on the DL more than starters. Kearse is great depth, and will be a great contributor, both on and off the field. My problem now is that I can name only 2 DT's that I know for a fact will be on the roster come Aug. and Sep.

Trevor Laws seems built to play on our DL. But we still need someone who can play in Haynesworth's spot and still keep the line intact. I don't want to see more games like @Denver and Jacksonvile. I like Dre Moore, who has all the talent required; he just needs to be coached by Wash. Kendall Langford is another that I like who can fill Odom's role well. Washburn has said that he likes this DT class, but not the DE class. So who knows?
                          Still Team The Ke$ha!!!

Kinda surprised he hates the DE class considering its considered a pretty good one. If we draft Dre Moore, let's just hope he doesn't turn out like the last Maryland DT we drafted.

the DE class IMO isnt very good either, i dont see n elite prospect coming out, chris long is never going to be a sack machine in the pros i dont think, gholsten will end up getting misused, merling probably cant get to the QB that well, harvey is a fat boy, campbell isnt that good i dont think, IMO lawrence jackson and quentin groves will have the most success
