  • Reinfeldt has really and truly done nothing in his tenure so far to endear me to him.

    • The Titans are being very smart not over-paying for mediocre players but I do think that WR Bryant Johnson might be a steal.

      • its like hes thinking oooo i can build this team through the draft, yeh good one, bring in some more 3rd round receivers and washed up veterans...same again this year

        • Odom to the Bengals, Bell to the Rams, Hartsock to the Falcons, and LaBoy is about to go to the Cardinals. Benji Olsen is also apparently going to retire. Rough day for the Titans.

Because Reinfeldt is a Douche. Anyone else noticed we dont usually keep our defensive lineman that we drafted pass their initial contracts? IIRC, Kearse, Kenny Holmes, John Thornton, Robaire Smith, Carlos Hall, Antwan Odom, Travis LaBoy, Randy Starks... all of them left after their first contract was up.

              • Well I'm back again this time to ask about LaBoy

How do you think he will fare as a 3-4 OLB?

Is 5 years, 22 Million a reasonable contract for his talents?

                What's his strengths and weaknesses?

                Comment

                • Ive always been intrigued at LaBoy being in a 3-4 situation. I think he has the athletic build and ability to pull it off. That contract is sem-reasonable considering the market.
He is a very good pass rusher, fairly quick but he does have injury problems such as concussions, and he's not much to write home about against the run.

lol so it seems we now have 3 injury prone pass rushing OLB's in LaBoy, Okeafor and Berry

                      • laboy is a rotational guy, he will never madke it as a starter in the NFL his pass rushing ability is not good enough to make up for his poorness vs the run

                        SO PISSED OFF ABOUT ODOM

                          • The guy who does the annual predictions about compensatory picks made them in the 2008 draft section and predicted the Titans would get a 4th for Drew Bennett. I hope to God he's right.

                            • Reinfeldt says that we need to build through the draft, but unfortunately for him, he should not be here for that time.

A sense of frugality at the GM position is great. I didn't mind Reinfeldt not going after mediocre FA's and not over paying for them. But there are two basic facts: sometimes we need to take risks, and if we want to improve without bringing in better talent, then we can't afford to lose our current talent. The Crumpler signing is nice, but questions surround Crumpler's condition. But the losses of Odom, Bell, LaBoy, and other contributors is horrible. Coming into the offseason, we knew that we needed more depth at the DL rotation. We've not lost 3 members of the rotation, and have brought in no one. It also looks like we're going to lose both of our Guards, with Olsen possibly retiring. Our receiving core hasn't been upgraded either. Now, heading into the Draft and the signing period of the 3rd tier FA's, we must replace a starting DE, a backup DE, a backup DT, a starting OG, a starting OG, and upgrade the receivers as well. Not only is that hard for a great drafting team, but in our case...

...Reinfeldt's draft last year was not impressive what-so-ever. We have one stud in Griffing, and then a bunch of guys with questions. I have no confidence that Reinfeldt can improve our team through the Draft, yet that is his objective. This draft will decide the fanbase's opinion of Reinfeldt, and right now, it has to be one helluva Draft to make me approve of him.

Odom was worth 30 Mil/11 Mil guaranteed. That was the signing we needed to keep if we wanted to let go Bell, LaBoy, etc. But no, we let everyone go. We have gone from a Playoff team back to a rebuilding team just because the FO didn't want to over spend, when in reality, the market is for over spending. Did it occur to Reinfeldt that every player will likely be over payed from here on out? Gimme a break... I know that we were in Cap Hell for a bit, but the NFL isn't about mercantilism. You don't gauge a team's success by how much cap room them have. You gauge it by the people inside the organization, and the success they acheive. It's better to be $15 million under the cap and make the Playoffs than it is to be $30 million under the cap and be known as the fiskally responsible team. Not saying we needed to pay out the butt for Berrian or someone else, but a marketably reasonable contract for a good DE isn't a bad move.

Meh, if this continues, Bud Adams will intervene. Bud wants a championship soon. And it's apparent that a Super Bowl is 4+ years down the road in Reinfeldt's mind. Another poor Draft, and Reinfeldt's days are numbered.

                              • And in other news...

Jevon Kearse (DE/Eagles), Jake Scott (OG, Colts), Julius Jones (RB, Cowboys), Josh Thomas (DE, Colts), and Ellis Wyms (DE/DT, Seahawks) are all visiting Tennessee.

Kearse can take LaBoy's spot, and if healthy, may be an upgrade. I mean, he's the mutha' ******' Freak... Jake Scott is a starting caliber Guard in the league, and Jones is a 1,000 YD RB who would be great in Dinger's one-cut and go running system. Josh Thomas played very well in Indy, and I believe most of the Colts fans here held him in high regard as far as a rotational player goes. Ellis Wyms isn't a sexy signing, but he adds to the rotation and is versatile.

Maybe Reinfeldt is just smarter than all of us... Still wanted to keep Odom though...
