  • Both are dangerous picks but I prefer Cam and I'd be a liar if I didn't say it's partly because he has the it factor. Aside from that his mobility will always help him as he develops as a passer and I do like the little we've seen of his arm. Rocket arm but nice touch. I do think Shanny will like Locker more though but really IMO interviews will play as much of a part than anything else and it's questionable whether or not Shanny will like Cam's personality.

    • Not another Auburn quarterback. Cam will probably bust. He's a major project.

I'd take Locker or Mallet over him in a heartbeat. I'd rather get a guy in a later round than see the Skins draft him.
      Just play me, baby

      • at this point id prefer cam then locker then mallett. but that can change with lockers senior bowl and combine.

          Curious,
what players did the vikes and the ravens get when they traded up with us?
And why wouldnt we want them?(shades of the falcons trade that got them tackle sam baker).
The ravens gave us jarrett johnson!!!!!!-hell yeah!

In round 2 would love the skins to pick up some wisniewski/pouncey/cannon but having looked at the current list of free agents there is not much out there at free safety OR nose tackle.
Tate over rahim moore(ucla) or deunta williams(north carol.)?
In round 2 i'd be looking at guys like powe/fua or knowing how shanny takes a flier on risky picks-marvin austin.
Not much left in rounds 5-7 for a decent nose tackle.
Barksdale and w.r. greg little are good value but i can see q.b. devlin going early second.

Solid, just a few things I would change.

I'm a fan of Carlos, if he wants to stay for the right price I think we should keep him. Yea he will drop 9/10 int's but he is a solid corner and we don't need to deplete another position and create need. I kind of feel the same way about Jammal Brown, but if he wants franchise tackle money we will have to cut our losses with him.

Some of the re-signs I could do without like Doughty and Blades but we really can't cut the whole roster.

As far as the draft, I've really come around to Locker sans the whole McNabb debacle in Detroit. If we can get him at 12 that is really good value imo.

Wisniewski would also be really solid value in the 2nd as he can play multiple positions on a depleted line, get Rabach the hell out of here, it's been long overdue.

Like the Armon Binns pick in the 5th. Saw him play quite a few games, kid has some decent talent.

i dont necessarily disagree with keeping either player for the right price but i feel pretty confident that rogers is going to want at least if not more than dhall and jbrown is going to want franchise LT terms. in both cases i gotta say id rather let them walk.

Good God - have you been reading my mind? Phil Taylor & Armon Binns are two players I had the Skins drafting in my own (as yet unreleased mocks). Some of the differences I have in FA are:
                  getting VJackson from SD
keeping Jammal Brown (Shanny has had some +ve things to say about him lately)
keeping Moss. It all depends on what they want or are offered in FA.
Love the drafting of Wisniewski in the 2nd - perfect pick.
Sean Taylor - You'll always be missed but never forgotten

                  • i considered vjax but a lot has to happen for us to land him. sd would have to let him walk without franchise tagging him and he would have to want to come to DC to play with rex grossman/rookie qb. im going to assume several teams offer him a lot of money and i just dont see him signing here.

with jbrown, i have no doubt that he can be a solid player in this offense but i refuse to pay him franchise lt money from what ive seen. he absolutely cannot stay healthy for a full season and trent williams is hopefully our LT for a long time.

                    • What kind of trade value does Cooley have? If we could get a 3rd for him I"d do it in a heart beat to help one of our other needs. Cooley simply isn't as explosive and seems to be pretty lazy now, plus I am just as confident in Fred Davis. Hopefully Cooley makes the pro bowl this year to drive up his value. Also unless he asks for ridiculous money I think you have to keep Santana. A team leader and brings stability to the wide receiver unit. I'm not a fan of totally starting off new with our wide receivers. Next thing you know we have Roydell Williams starting next year opposite of Armstrong. BTW if Malcolm Kelly even sprains his ankle at any point in the offseason I am cutting him on teh spot.

Tough to argue against your points. I love Cooley and it would crush me to lose him but he is getting in the way of Davis at this point. Quite frankly I expected more 2 TE sets this year considering we have an obvious strength there.

                        • cooley made it as second alternate. id be on board for trading him too if it was for a third. would be tough because i love the guy but like you said im just as confident in fred davis going forward. hes one of the only guys we really have for trade bait.

                          • Hopefully Kevin Barnes shows positive signs again this week and maybe could step in as our #2 next year although if worst comes to worst I'd rather him at FS than Moore or Doughty. Have been pleading for the longest time for him to get on the field.
