The Boston Celtics select (in a big surprise) Greg Oden, center out of Ohio State.

We'll see what happens with any trades, but right now Oden is the big man in the middle on a young but talented C's squad. The Celtics believe that Oden and Al Jefferson will be one of the better low post combos in the league, and hopefully Jefferson's offensive ability will take some pressure off Oden to contribute at that end right away. We don't expect Oden to be the next big center in the league, but are comfortable expecting good rebounding and blocked shot numbers, good defense, decent scoring numbers, and a few All-Star games at the least. Hopefully he settles into a role on the Boston squad in the future and he along with young guys like Jefferson, Gerald Green, Rajon Rondo, Tony Allen, Ryan Gomes, and Delonte West can help bring a championship back to Boston.

          Live Pick Analysis
Shocking pick here. Greg Oden was the obvious #1 bigman prospect in the draft and while he is far from the perfect prospect that most think him to be he has a real chance to be a defensive force. Offensively he lacks any sort of consistent array of moves but has a nice jump hook, he struggles with bigger players and has lots of work to do but has real potential to be a top Center in the NBA. He is the perfect fit for the Grizzlies and any team for that matter. After trading Pau Gasol this was a pick that had to be made. The Grizzlies will now have a young core with Oden 2 first rounders later and the addition of Raja Bell and James Jones, I expect them to target PG with their next pick after trading PG of the future Kyle Lowry.

Edit, My Bad it's the Celtics pick, but yeah good pick him and Jefferson will be a sick combo for the future and on.

K-deezy!!! The best prospect of the draft goes to the 76ers who are trying to rebuild around a star after loosing AI, although that star could be AI in Iguodala but Iguodala slides to the 2 guard and is a perfect compliment to Durant as Iguodala is an amazing passer and very unselfish. Philly is a much improved scoring team with the addition of a star like Durant who is most likely the frontrunner for ROY, the 76ers still however are awful in the interior something I am sure they will later address with the 8th pick.

                  Live Pick Analysis

This pick may come as a bit of a shocker to some as many probably assumed that the pick would be Brandan Wright but I actually really like the pick, hot off the national championship Horford's stock is soaring higher than it has ever been. Wright is highly skilled but with his body he is still a very risky pick. This was a very solid and safe pick as Horford has the offense and defense to replace Pau Gasol, with the additions of Boris Diaw and James Jones as well as 2 later first rounders, this Grizz team is looking to go into the right direction.

                        Pick Analysis

Great Pick for the Bucks as Wright doesn't really fall, but he doesn't go where he is expected to go. Bucks get a bigtime prospect who will help turn them back towards the playoffs, don't expect an immediate impact from Wright though.

                            Live Pick Analysis

Great, Great, pick, Jeff Green is the best basketball player in the draft, can rebound, pass, dribble shoot, block, and play man defense on smaller guards, a very excellent and smart pick which will help the young Bobcats as Green is very mature and unselfish.
He is an unselfish all around player who is the kind of guy you build a championship team around. He is 6-8" and has a very solid build. He is a great ballhandler, amazing passser for his size, reliable and consitent shooter, great rebounder down low, and a great shot blocker coming off a 10 block game. I think he is the 1 surefire slam dunk in the draft. You know what you are getting from him. Every year in his career he will average around 15 ppg, 8 rpg, 5 apg, 2 bpg and will play defense. He will bring it every night and mold his team together, while he won't blow up on the stat sheet with huge scoring numbers it's a testament to his great unselfishness and his desire for his team to win.
