Last year's team = $$$$$$$$
Also added Morrow $$$, Scherzer $$$, Hart $$$, Hudson $$ and Axford $.
Last year my guy was Cargo and obviously that paid HUGE dividends...
I cannot expect a repeat performance but here's what I'm seeing so far in terms of value where guys are ranked:
- - - Joe Mauer
- - Carl Crawford
+++ Prince Fielder
+++ Mark Teixeira
+ Matt Kemp
++ Jose Reyes
- Adam Wainwright
- - CC Sabathia
+ Jon Lester
- Zack Greinke
- - - - Adrian Beltre
+ Kendry Morales
- Brandon Phillips
++++ Tommy Hanson
+++ Jay Bruce
- - - - - Ichiro Suzuki
- - Andre Ethier
- - Jayson Werth
++ Stephen Drew
+++++ Mike Stanton
- - - - Vlad Guerrero
+ Mark Reynolds
+ Elvis Andrus
+ Max Scherzer
+ Pablo Sandoval
- - - Casey McGehee
+ Brandon Morrow
+ Jacoby Ellsbury
++++ Curtis Granderson
++ Brett Anderson
+++ Adam Jones
- Grady Sizemore
++ Carlos Beltran
++ Manny Ramirez
+++ Jeremy Hellickson
+ Mike Napoli
+ James Shields
- Paying for/using high picks on closers
- Paying for/using high picks on speed guys with limited power
+ Waiting on 2B for Aaron Hill, Gordon Beckham, Howie Kendrick, or Chone Figgins
+ Mets pitchers late (specifically Chris Young)
+ Drafting the BEST PLAYER (BEST STATS) AVAILABLE ON YOUR BOARD instead of worrying about positional scarcity and overvaluing infielders.
I'm absolutely lost/intrigued with the following players:
Any catcher before round 12 - If Santana is sitting there in round seven, why not pull the trigger instead of taking another OF? Most sites advise against drafting catchers early in leagues with just one C spot though...
David Wright - 10 HRs two years ago still haunts. Is the 20+ SBs and 3B eligibility worth passing on a 40+ HR potential 1B? I DON'T KNOW!!!!
Ryan Howard - His #s are on a steady decline but why can't they go back up a little? He's not THAT old, right?
Jose Bautista - 54 isn't happening again but is 40 with .250ish and 10 steals possible? Probable?
Justin Upton - Finally the year he puts it all together? Cargoish #s?
Jason Heyward - Will this be the last year you can get him outside of the first round?
Michael Young - Model of consistency, right? But it has to end sometime...
Francisco Liriano - Injury risk?
Alexei Ramirez - Why exactly is he rated so high?
Alex Rios - Classic underachiever but his #s were pretty good last year. Why is he rated below his SS?
Aramis Ramirez - Finished strong. But what is he at this point?
B.J. Upton - The potential is always there.
Dan Haren - Full season in the AL will do what?
Carlos Pena - He won't hit under .200 again, but the Cubs offense is a lot worse than the Rays? How about the park?
Derrek Lee - You can get a guy real late who was a star just two years ago.
Adam Lind - Some places predict a big bounce-back.
Colby Lewis - Ks repeat?
Jorge De La Rosa - Stuff is good, team will be good. Potential 15-17 game winner?
Edinson Volquez - Lost.
Daniel Hudson - He was RIDICULOUS last season. So where's the hype?
Jordan Zimmerman - Difficult to trust any WAS pitcher.
Michael Pineda - Hearing a lot of sleeper talk.
Jose Tabata - Difficult to trust any Pirates player period.
