  • There's a good chance a good video game movie is on the way.

One of them is bound to be good with God of War, Gears of War, Halo, Uncharted, Dead Space, Dark Void all bound to be made eventually.

I dont see any reason why Uncharted or God of War couldnt be made into great movies.

edit...forgot about Mass Effect and Lost Planet and probably a bunch of others that are going to be made.

    • Ya the best Tarantino flick is clearly Death Proof.

      • Oh and for whatever reason Brad Pitt keeps getting rumored to play the star of the movie adaptation of Dark Void.

        So he'd play this dude....

        • Star Trek.........would it be entertaining to a non-star trek geek? Thinking about watching it. Not sure yet.

Also, The Prince of Persia trailer didnt look THAT bad.

And Rosebud, I think that Basterds was more polished then Dogs or Pulp, but I dont think it was better made. I enjoyed it, but I found it to be inferior to both the aforementioned movies. It dragged at times, at least for me, and while I do think that the thing that separates Tarantino from other violence-friendly directors is his dialogue, I think he may have overplayed his hand in that regard in Basterds. I did like it better then the Kill Bill movies and Jackie Brown...

Also, worth noting, and Ive said it before, but if we are counting the movies Tarantino has written, I think True Romance is right up there with Pulp and Dogs and now Basterds. I love that movie.

            • We do not need another discussion about True Romance's ending to come up.
              It's awesome, regardless.
And to mix topics with whatever MOTH was talking about, Floyd is truly great.

If we're talking about his screenplays NBK's easily number one. Hell even Oliver Stones adaptation of that screenplay probably ranks as a better movie than pulp, dogs, bastards or true romance.

Amazing game...it's basically a movie in itself. Plays like a giant block buster. No one is attached to star yet, but Fillion is a fan favorite. I've heard bigger named stars are probably going to be contacted first. The voice actor who plays the lead wants the role but, they want to go big star, giant budget. Avi Arad and his crew are attached to produce. (Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Spider Man, Blade, X-Men, etc.)

I hate Star Trek but, I think the movie looks great and the reviews are stellar. I plan on buying it sometime this week.

So you are saying that NBK the movie, as it is, is better then Pulp, Dogs, Basterds and True Romance?

                        • The new Star Trek is good imo because it's more of an action movie than a sci fi movie. Also, it's similar to Batman Begins and Casino Royale in that it is a setup movie and the characters aren't necessarily developed into their stereotypical roles.

So basically you need to know nothing about Star Trek to enjoy, although having basic info makes it that much more enjoyable, and it really doesn't have the "trekkie" feel to it.

I'm hopefully getting it on BluRay for xmas, which should be orgasmic.

                          • Anyone know for sure if District 9 comes out before or after christmas?

I've seen several release dates, from like the 23rd to early January. I'd love to get the blue ray for christmas.

I'm sad enough that Moon isnt coming out until January.

                            Thanks BoneKrusher^

I don't see any way this movie won't totally suck.

I dont see any reason why Uncharted or God of War couldnt be made into great movies.
Well, because Uncharted is essentially a video game tribute to Indiana Jones, making a movie based off it some sort of second-hand ghost of a (mostly) great set of movies. And because I can't figure out just what the hell a God of War movie would be about. It would have to be basically 300, only way more ridiculous. And 300 was bordering on way too ridiculous anyway.

                              • God of War could loosely follow his story, there was a pretty good story there...and yeah, I'd expect it to be 300 esque but, in the right hands, someone could make a good movie. At the very least, you can have some amazing visuals. :D

As for Uncharted...I've never seen the Indy movies but, he's kind of like that but, not exactly. More R Rated. The guy kills A LOT of people. lol. They'd be better of combing elements between both games so, it's not all tomb raiding and such. It'd be bound to get a PG 13 movie I'm sure. But anyway, I dont think Indy Jones when I'm playing Uncharted...there are similarities but, he is a very good character in his own right.

                                Thanks BoneKrusher^
