  • Am I the only one who takes Jamie Bell from that group? Im a huge fan of his. I think of those 3, hes definitely the strongest dramatic actor.

Bought it for 3 bucks at a grocery store. It's worth the 3 bucks. A decent flick.

          • I omitted Hirsch...

I'd put Hirsch in with a bit of an older group with the likes of JGL and James Franco.

They're just that much better than those younger guys as well.

            Thanks BoneKrusher^

They're three of my favorite young actors...I think I may go Yelchin, myself. He's a little whiny but, he's very good at expressing his emotions. They're all good cryers. haha.

              Thanks BoneKrusher^

              • Im a huge Jake Gyllenhaal supporter when speaking of best young actors in Hollywood. He isnt THAT young, but as far as actors under 30 go, I think you are hard pressed to find someone with a better resume then him.

Also, watching this now, and its far from a bad movie. Seen it a bunch of times before, but its one of those flicks that you can start anywhere in the movie and its entertaining, if only to look at Cuthbert. That said, the character of Eli is supposedly based off Eli Roth, which amuses me.

                • The Girl Next Door is a fantastic comedy...and the talent is amazing when you look back on it. The three friends alone, are Hirsch, Dano, and Chris Marquette. Marquette can be hit or miss but, he's shown some good acting chops in some of his more serious roles. I love that movie.

                  Thanks BoneKrusher^

                  • I like Gyllenhaal, but I go Gosling every time for Under-30.

                    • I think Gosling can be a little hit or miss. He's great, dont get me wrong but, I dont buy some of his roles. He's got a natural laid back, glazed over type deal going on. He mumbles sometimes and he acts and sounds like he's stoned every now and then, imo. haha. I dont know, there is something off there, but most of the time, he's great. You also have to have a great appreciation for the types of roles he takes...he wants to challenge himself.

                      Thanks BoneKrusher^

My 2nd fave movie of last year, and one of the better black comedies to come around in a loooooooong time. Colin Farrell had shown in a few previous films that he actually can act, but this really solidified his status as an actor, and not just a movie star.

I thought he did well in Phonebooth which was a mediocre movie but Farrell pulled it off pretty well. And he's just marvelous in this movie, I just adore his facial expressions and there are just so many great lines. Also love the way they incorporated the city and filmed this movie. It might well be my favorite movie from last year.

he's just lacked a big role to break him out.
