This is true. Plus, are they sure it's going to purely and action movie? If it's part comedy, then he could be a decent fit. John K's is a good actor, so I'm sure there's more range that we've seen. I've just gotten so used to Jim that it'd be quite the change of pace.

By the way, Cop Out is at a 13% on http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/cop_out/#contentReviews

...Could it possibly be that bad? I'm going to see it regardless, because a movie with Tracy Morgan really can't lose. Some(most) critics are just flat out stupid.

      • I seriously have to be the only person that thought that movie looked stupid. It looked like a comedy from the 90's. And I personally can only stand so much of Tracy Morgan. It's not like Kevin Smith wrote it, either.

        Thanks BoneKrusher^

I thought the same thing until I saw the red band trailer. There's no way that movie can't be funny.

            Are 90's comedies that bad?

No but, I meant that it looked like one of those generic 90's comedies. About buddy cops who constantly butt heads and bicker back and forth and what not. This movie has only been done a thousand times...and I could add the 80's in there as well. With 48 Hours, Lethal Weapon, Midnight Run, etc. The buddy cop comedy is as played out as it gets.

              Thanks BoneKrusher^

              • Most comedies are played out but they can still be funny. I'll give Kevin Smith the benefit on this one. Also, Moth tomorrow is going to suck with the snow.

Kevin Smith posted this review of Cop Out on his Twitter. The idea that 90's comedies ARE as "played out as it gets" was kind of his main point with this movie.

...And so Cop Out announces itself as both loving "homage" to "everything on cable"—particularly '80s action comedies, referenced most directly by Harold Faltermeyer's cheap synth score and an honest-to-goodness plot song (called "Soul Brothers" and sung by Patti LaBelle)—and a sly subversion of genre. It's a movie that shamelessly trafficks in the clichés of other cop movies...

Yes it is. I dont know what exactly to expect right now. My local weather says anywhere from 6-12" but, I've heard well over a foot on other channels. Even potentially 12-24" So I dont know.

                    Thanks BoneKrusher^

Well the idea wasnt even Kevin Smith's to begin with, he was approached by Warner Bros. to do it. But anyway, sadly for Smith, who I love, the movie is supposed to blow. Homages can be garbage if done incorrectly.

                      Thanks BoneKrusher^

Yeah they're saying 12-14 here also. You probably live right near me haha.

He was in Head of State, you know. Which is probably the worst movie ever made ever.

                          "Now we can watch Martin!"

Cop Out doesn't really intrigue me from what I've seen.

                          • I wish people would ignore reviews. Some of my favorite movies were **** on by critics. The only time i EVER read reviews is AFTER I see a movie. And I rarely do that. I hate reviews.

Im going to see Cop Out, because the red band trailer was hilarious.

                            • Just watched State of Play. I thought it was really good, well acted, did not resort to cliches that many of today's movies have, nice ending. + Rachel McAdams = win.

                              • All the schtick about Krasinski as Captain America is purely rumor at this point. They tested about 6 actors for the role yesterday, including one kid from The OC and one from Friday Night Lights, along with Mike Vogel of Cloverfield fame, who was the #2 choice to play Kirk in the rebooted Star Trek.

I personally still think Aaron Eckhart is perfect, but I guess I dont get to cast the movie :(
