There's never too many times to proclaim the greatness that is Speed Racer.

He didnt actually read the comics...he watched the movies that always end with the good guy winning and everything being tied up in a nice little bow. Hero ends up saving/getting the girl and saving the world. A big Superman fan. He's also a big action guy...seriously, he idolizes Arnold, Stallone, Van Dam, Segal, Lundgren, etc. These guys never lose and that's the way he likes it. I try to get him to expand his mind on the whole thing but, any time the hero dies or loses in a way, it ends up ruining the movie for him. And being that hollywood goes this direction a lot now, he's not as big a fan of movies as he used to be. It is funny though, when you think about it, running down my list of dvds, the hero dies or his life is left in question in a great deal of my movies. I would list them but, that would be a big spoiler post...So, i'd rather not.

      Thanks BoneKrusher^

I think that tells you more about how children like terrible movies. The modern movie goers aren't much better though.

It's very fun and entertaining. You can't take it to seriously. I know its supposed to be very cheesy and I actually enjoyed that about it.

            • I liked Planet Terror more. Though, as a gearhead, I love Vanishing Point. So, it was a a close second.

He also didnt like the Dark Knight...he did up until the end but, he said the ending ruined the movie for him because, super heroes shouldnt be wrongfully hunted and are not criminals. He's of the old school and only wants to see the happy ending, you see. :)
The ending of The Dark Knight kind of angered me too. I wanted one of those damn boats to explode.
