The post count is probably the posts in threads the got switched to the new board. So everything that was pruned doesn't count.

That's better than the randomness we have now. I was #8 (or was it 9) on the all-time post list, and now I have 500 . . . and I am seeing guys who've been here for a month or two with twice the post count I have . . .
