The only reason I've been voting for all Pirates is b/c the All-Star Game is in Pittsburgh. I'm just mad that:

    1) Freddy Sanchez isn't on the ballot.

    2) Sanchez probably won't be put on the All-Star team unless Cabrera or Wright gets hurt.

      That's how I'd rank 1B for the All-Star game.
No Travis Hafner? Some baseball person you are.

      .301 BA, 14 HR, 44 RBI, 47 R, .443 OBP.

I can't remember what OPS was, is it OBP + Slugging? If so, Pronk's is 1.045.

Even though I hate his guts, Thome should be first. But then the next three are kind of interchangable.

Hafner should be considered too, though he plays most of the time as a DH. He might make the team in that position.

BTW, that Hafner-Diaz trade has a chance to go down in history is one of the most one-sided ever.

I forgot about Hafner right after I posted, but I still would have him after Giambi, cause he can actually play the field, which allows one of the Yankees other 30+ year olds / injured players to take advatage of the DH spot. My bad.

This is what it SHOULD be. The MLB needs to quit letting the fans pick the teams, since everyone is biased towards NYY and BOS who votes.

              AL All Stars
              1B-Ortiz
              Thome
              Hafner
              2B-Iguchi
              SS-Jeter
              Tejada
              3B-Rodriguez
              C-Mauer
              Posada
              OF-Guerrero
              Sizemore
              Ichiro
              SP-Sabathia

Probably because both those players are better

Here's who i voted for on my most deserving ballot:

                    American League:

                    Catcher: Joe Mauer
                    First Base: Travis Hafner
                    Second Base: Jose Lopez
Third Base: Troy Glaus (probably shoulda been A-Rod)
                    Shortstop: Miguel Tejada

Outfield: Alex Rios (not even on ballott, that's a rip-off, shoulda been Jermaine Dye though)
                    Outfield: Vernon Wells
                    Outfield: Vlad Guerrero

                    National League
                    Catcher: Johnny Estrada
                    First Base: Albert Pujols
                    Second Base: Jose Castillo
                    Third Base: Miguel Cabrera
                    Shortstop: Hanley Ramirez

                    Outfield: Matt Holiday
                    Outfield: Jason Bay
                    Outfield: Alfonso Soriano

Sig by me... Hold the applause.

I'm sorry but Alex Rodriguez does not deserve to be a top the AL 3B All-Star Rankings. He's a great player but he hasn't had the year that say a guy like Joe Crede has had for the White Sox. Joe is IMO the best glove man in the MLB at 3B and he's finally found his offense.

Is the All Star game in a National League park this year? Is that why there is no DH. If that is the case Giambi should start at 1b. Only player having a better season than him in Thome but he never plays the position.

Honestly, the whole Yankees infield could start the All Star game and it would be pretty fair. No one from their outfield should be there. Although if Damon stays hot like he is now, he could earn his spot, but right now he doesn't deserve to be there.

It's just a popularity contest now, not even very interesting, but you'll still see me watching it, as always. What can I say, I just love baseball too much not too.
