That's what I thought as well, so we need a thread to get people to realize that everything you need is free (like this site) :)

      Peer Guardian:

I guess I have to describe it to get it on that list:

Peer Guardian is capable of blocking incoming and outgoing connections based on IP blocklists. The system is also capable of blocking custom ranges, depending upon user preferences. Great for security/privacy fans and also p2p users.

I suggest splitting these into categories instead of straight alphabetical order. Office Software, Graphical programs (2d and 3d,) Audio recording and editing, Multimedia players, CD/DVD software, Video editing software, web browsers, etc.

These are good threads, I've seen them on most forums I frequent.

I'll add a few things later.

MediaMonkey is probably my favorite media library program right now. Doesn't have the video capabilities of winamp, but it's absolutely money for music. I haven't tried SongBird out yet though and I'm thinking of doing that if I ever have to go back to playing music off my laptop.

Skype. It's great. I get the impression everyone knows about it by now. If you don't, look into it.

Forgot to add this to my other post, Daemon Tools is another good program. Runs CD/DVDs off images. I run a few games with Daemon Tools, no need to use a cd or wait for any load time, runs fast and smooth.

Daemon Tools lite is the free one.

What the hell is the point of buying a program used to help play pirated programs.

Because going to the site would require me to read. Come on now Bantx, we both now I would rather post without having checked to see if my view on the program is at all right :(
