  • PSA: MY BRUTE LINKED TO TROJAN (not a joke)

Hey guys, I know many of us here have played or play mybrute (little browser fighting game), if you haven't don't sweat.

Downloader.Swif.C is a Trojan horse that exploits the Adobe Flash Player Multimedia File Remote Buffer Overflow Vulnerability (BID 28695) in order to download more malware on to the compromised computer.
This is a warning from the Semantec Website

Please, if you've played this game, run a scan and check your comp.

My Norton blocked it and now wont let me press "fight" on the game. I figured it was a virus since a message popped up that a lot of things were blocked when I logged on that site. It never happened the first week but the last few days it has showed up.

it's best to check the interwebs instead of passing on incorrect information.

per symantec employee in linked thread:

"We have investigated and determined this is a false positive. Updated virus definitions have already been published which contain the correction."
thanks for the real info, rep 4 U.

Running a scan now with my AVG. Was seriously considering giving up mybrute - now I'm sold. Good lookin' out SK.
