I end up saying this every time we have this thread. If you're going to by a PC laptop, buy a Lenovo thinkpad. They're tanks, they're reliable, they're relatively cheap, and they are easily fixed.

I have a Dell, works pretty good and wasn't too expensive.

I bought a Dell Inspiron 1525 last July, and it worked awesome until this June. It started ******* around, and it turned out the hard drive due to "humidity". WTF.

Lenovo Thinkpad T series is the best midrange laptop available IMO. Excellent performance (probably the best for the money), durable, and has a comfortable keyboard.

While we're on the subject of laptops, is it okay to keep my laptop plugged in all of the time? Does it damage the battery?

I heard that it's bad for the battery but mine is always plugged in and I've never had a problem with battery life.

I also heard it's the same for cell phones.

Wait until you have to deal with Jugdesh who can't ******* speak English. That's when the fun begins.

Oh how true that is, it brings new meaning to the term "language barrier".

Compared to a dinky netbook, no. Compared to a Sony Viao and a Macbook (which were the two laptops people were mentioning when I made my post), it's terrifically cheap.
