Closer than a lot of people think, I mean I know ESPN has pretty much handed Heyward every honor there is in baseball already.

But Jaime in 7 starts is 4-2 with a 1.42 ERA, 44.1 innings pitched, 36 Ks, 1.06 WHIP and a batting average against of .197

    • Heyward's WAR: 1.2
      Garcia: 1.2

Edit: yes Brodeur, I know it's a small sample size. And I know Garcia's getting stupid lucky.

Remember when BJ Upton was good?

        • Ike Davis says hi as well. A little behind those 2 because he didn't start the year with us but he's been very good also.

          • Right now the race looks close, but Garcia's numbers aren't nearly as sustainable as Heyward's are. His BABIP against is unusually low and when everything evens out it will catch up to him.

His HR/FB rate is way more off-kilter than his BABIP.

I hope this means he is starting to turn things around. He just better be serviceable for the rest of the year.

I agree. Boston is a different team when he's swinging the bat well.
I guess he's only starting against RHPs now. Lowell starts against LHPs.
Not a bad job when you're making 12 mill a year. Play every game vs LHP and pinch hit once in a while

                  • The Brewers deserve to be boo'd off the field. Major props to these fans for still showiing up blow out after blow out. Vargas now Suppan, sums up the season too perfectly...

                    Uhhhh.

Don't worry, you have the Pirates coming up.

He's a hell of a lot worse than Brett Gardner, and that is the breaking point.
