My HS team has such an elaborate defense. There's an Anchor (strong side DE), Monster (strong side DE), DT (weakside DT), DE (weakside DE), Mike (strong side ILB), Eagle (strongside ILB), Stud (weakside LB/DE), Rambo (free safety), Forced Corner (strong side CB/LB), Close Corner (weakside CB), and Safety.

      It looks kinda like this

      ---------------------2
      --------------------QB----SL
      X ---------- Y T G C G T ------------X
      --------------A--M--DT--DE--S
      --FC------------E----M------------CC
      ------------R---------------S

Bear with me on the drawing.

I like the 3-4 for video games, but in real life I'd expect the 4-2-5 or 3-3-5 to be the best bet.

3-3-5 should be use more often, because High Schoolers are getting more athletic but not as big. its good to have the fat guys in front and let the "Playmakers" make plays

That is kinda odd with more people on the weakside than strongside. Here is what my team's looks like. S is stud (DE/OLB). Mike and Will ILBs, WT is Walt, which is a SS/OLB.

The 'strong' side for us is the side with the TE. The Mike group (the Mike, Stud, Anchor, Monster, and Forced Corner) is always opposite the TE. I messed up the way I named them, but the drawing is right.

              Our defenses are fairly similar.
