  • what is the hardest position in the NFL to play?

in highschool i say its quarterback just because of the mental responsibilities.

but for the nfl ive heard it was cornerback and i have to agree. you have to be the most athletic and one hesitation or indecision and you could give up a td. covering 6ftplus guys who run 4.4-4.6, and top notch quarterbacks who can gun it in the smallest of windows if you give it to them. not to mention trying to tackle rb's who outweigh you by 30-50 lbs.

    what do you guys think?

physically it's CB, mentally it's QB, so which one do you want?

Cornerback. You have to read the recievers movements.

Corner, with all the new rules making the passing game easier, being shutdown is absolutely impossible. It's really easy to be faked out and then the guy can go deep and you completely screwed. It takes an insane amount of athletic ability as well.

QB is really hard as well. You need to read the defenses although I think every QB who prepares well enough won't have that hard of a time on gameday, like Peyton.

I choose quarterback for the mental responsiblities that come with the job.

I say cornerback because blown coverage usually means a touchdown, and the rules that favor the receiver make it very easy for them to make their catches. It takes brains as well as athletic ability to manipulate the system and beat the heavily favored WR.

A quarterback has the team on his back moreso then a corner. Both positions need to have knowledge of both sides of the ball. However you can have an elite corner that doesn't tackle well (Deion) but you can't have a qb that can't do one thing well.

From a mental standpoint, quarterbacks without a doubt. Nothing compares to the complexity of thinking that they must do in order to run a play.

To be a good QB it has to be tough, If your #1 WR is covered you will need to find the open WR with 250 pound linebacker wanting to tear your head off.

QB's have the most mentral strain and are usually blamed for losses. Their physical ability is the rarest and hardest to find, which is why they're treated with such care. CB is hard too but i think all of the mental aspects make QB just a bit harder.

I can never imagine playing O-line, you face heavy contact everyplay and you are criticized for all the failures. Also it just seems kinda boring blocking.
