I think hes actually ok on the legal front for the time being. Didn't he already get no jail time?

Vitor is far from "mediocre". Granted, that's the first world class fighter that Silva's faced since Hendo, but Vitor was a really tough challenge for him. Belfort is head and shoulders above the rest of the MW division, and Anderson Silva is a step above him. There's really nothing left for him at 185.

The fight was unfortunately short. It was looking like it could turn out to be a real war.

It was also interesting to see how Jon Jones completely out-classed Bader. Jones is on that higher level, and it's great to see someone new emerge at the top tier of the 205 division.

            • Sonnen deserves nothing after testing positive for PED's especially after he's talked so much crap about some of the heavyweights. Obviously you can't tell what would have happened but you definitely have to consider in the Silva fight the fact that Silva had a pre-existing rib injury and Chael was on PED's.

              • You better believe I will have my ass there if it happens!

LAS VEGAS -- Georges St. Pierre will main event the first stadium show in UFC history when he takes on Jake Shields in April.

If he wins, he'll likely get a second big stage immediately following it.

UFC president Dana White said that if St. Pierre defeats Shields, it will set up a long-awaited St. Pierre vs. Anderson Silva superfight for the middleweight championship, and the event is a near-lock to take place at a stadium. Among the possible hosts? Texas' Cowboys Stadium, and Toronto's Rogers Centre.

"It makes sense that we'll do a stadium show," White said after Silva knocked out Vitor Belfort at UFC 126. "It totally makes sense. and you know, if there was ever a fight where we were going to do Dallas' [Cowboys] Stadium, this would be the fight."

Cowboys Stadium is the home of Sunday's Super Bowl, but White has met with its executives in the past about possibly holding an event there. He got his first taste of the showcase stadium when he attended a Manny Pacquiao fight, and became convinced that a UFC show would make sense there.

"When I saw that stadium I said, 'we can definitely do this,'" White said. "It's a great atmosphere for a fight."

Cowboys Stadium is no lock, though. White said a return trip to Rogers Centre in Toronto could be another possibility. Tickets to the UFC's first foray to the Toronto stadium go on sale this week, with about 42,000 tickets available. A sellout would nearly double the existing North American MMA attendance record.

A Silva-St. Pierre superfight would be an even hotter ticket, but Shields can cancel the party by playing spoiler at UFC 129 on April 30.

                • Even if Shields somehow upsets GSP you should do Shields vs GSP since Shields was SF MW champ and beat Hendo.

                  • Jake Shields isn't a MW. He moved up to get better fights without having to fight Nick Diaz. That he as able to be so successful moving up to 185 is very impressive, but he's a 170 guy all the way.

I think the GSP v. Silva talk is extremely premature. Shields is the biggest threat GSP has faced since the second Hughes fight.

                    • Shields doesn't have good striking or takedowns though. It's extremely hard to get GSP to the ground, and even if you manage that keeping him there is even harder. On the ground Shields is one of the best guys in MMA, but so is GSP and I think he can survive being there long enough to get out of the position and beat up Shields on the feet. Shields' striking is just so...horrible. He telegraphs strikes so slowly and keeps his chin up. Now he can take some damage. Hendo would have knocked out a lot of guys with the beating he put on Shields, and Jake hung in there and dominated the rest of the fight. Maybe GSP knocks him to the ground, follows for some ground and pound and Jake gets a hold of him and pulls off a sub. He's certainly capable of doing so, but GSP is a smart enough guy to know not to go balls to the wall trying to finish that he gasses himself out or puts himself in a position to be stunned.

                      • Shields looked like dog **** against Kampmann in October and before that he beat an ancient Dan Henderson by smothering him. I think GSP has a big advantage in that fight, I fear for him against Silva though...

                        • Shields got huge as a MW, obviously the cut to 170 for the first time in a long time drained him big time. Shields cardio is pretty solid but he gassed in the 2nd round vs Kamp. Still think Shields should have had another tune up before getting GSP but Shields will not have to cut a ton of weight like his last fight.

I just caught up on the undercard for UFC 126, obviously he was only fighting Gabe Ruedigar, but man Paul Taylor looks miles better at 155, I hope he can put a run together as he is a beast on his feet

                            • He looked pretty good against Stout as well. Paul Kelly however is a classless douche, Cowboy went to tap gloves at the start of the fight and Kelly faked the glove tap and went for the KO. Thank God Cerrone tapped him out, that would have been horrible. Cerrone winning at least quiets the haters who said that none of the WEC 155ers were good enough for the UFC and that Bendo and Pettis couldn't be top 10 LW's in the UFC.

Yeah definitely, I don't know what Tellys was thinking as he is usually a decent guy, but I can't defend that.
