  • I'll tell you what's NOT in my cd player. The new Kanye West cd. What was he thinking? Heartless was good, but he overdid the voice synthesizer thing big time.

Absolutely agree here, Stevie Ray is one of the most talented guitarists I've ever seen, but Jimi created an incredible catalogue in essentially under 5 years. I do enjoy SRV, but Jimi was far superior as an overall musician.

I like it but you are right, every fricking song has voice synthesizers.

But he can't sing for his life so he really needs it though...

or....he could have continued rapping and not embarrassed himself. :)

If you can't do something, don't do it.

He's trying to spin the auto-tune thing into an artistic outlet or something.

            • I really wish Against Me! would stop sucking and go back to their folk punk roots. I just missed seeing Tom Gabel, and I regret it everyday

              • Common is definitely one of the top 20 rappers ever but if you haven't heard his new album don't bother.

They're saying it's supposed to sound dark for a tribute to his mother. I liked Graduation, but if 808s & Heartbreak really is a tribute, then he did an awful job.

                    • 1. Based on what I have heard....it isn't dark.
                      2. Or a tribute...what the hell? It's self loathing.

I agree. It's terrible and doesn't really fit what I've read about it.

My favorite rap album of late was LAX by The Game.

That seems to be the popular opinion.

The popular opinion isn't always the "right" opinion.

                              • Frobama by Afroman is clearly the best recent rap album.
