This was a surprise because he is a second round talent right now that doesnt have the guarantee of a contract. So will be interesting to see where he actually goes in the NBA draft.
With that said I've always said that his stock is the highest it will ever be right now. He will always be an undersized 2 guard but with the ridiculous talent coming to UK his scoring is guaranteed to dip a good amount. I think Patterson has a chance to improve his stock but with Meeks I think it was a fine choice to stay in the draft. He will find a team in the late 1-mid 2nd area.
Derrick Brown should have went back to school. He has yet to put it all together but could be a mid first rounder based off of athleticism and potential. Brandan Costner and Austin Daye were also dumb to declare.
With that said, for Jodie's sake... I don't blame him. He could've improved his efficiency had he come back and played for a national title however his stock can only improve so much over one year. Now he's getting paid to work on his game for longer hours and not have to deal with class/homework.
He said he would only go if he got a 1st round guarantee, not sure if he just wanted to stay or he actually got that guarantee. If I had to put money on a team taking him in the 1st, I'd go with Chicago.
Now our starting lineup:
PG - John Wall
SG - Darnell Dodson
Wing - Darius Miller
PF - Patrick Patterson
C - DeMarcus Cousins
Key Bench Players
A lot of youth and a little light on perimeter shooting. Should be ranked in the 6-12 range I'd think.
Just wanted to throw out there that when you said first round guarantee the first team that came to mind was Chicago, before I got to you saying your money would be on Chicago. Would be an interesting fit there, particularly if they plan on going for a big at 16.
If a HS prospect has someone take their SAT for them, that's pretty hard for the HC at their college to get a read on. I mean, at Simeon cheating was apparently going around to all the players... Not just Rose.
I'm not concerned, our compliance office is top notch.
I know we're not the deepest team...but wow....25? Dyson and Robinson are returning for their 4th year as starters. Kemba Walker should be one of the best PGs in the nation. Gavin Edwards is a serviceable big. After that we have some question marks but those 4 should make us a competitive team...definitely top 20 material.
Cal being higher than UW is a joke. We won the Pac-10 and only lost Jonny B and Justin Dentmon, while keeping the Pac-10 Freshman of the year and Freshman all american Isaiah Thomas and bringing in the #2 PG in the nation in Abdul Gaddy, while keeping gameoverton as a spark plug off the bench and getting some freshmen to deepen our frontcourt. Top 10 please.

Yeah etk I was surprirsed at that ranking as well. Yall have some good recruits coming in, and maybe if Majok sticks around top 15 isn't a stretch.
Majok won't be able to play until mid-December. Here's what Coach Calhoun had to say:
"He's not going to go into the draft, but I don't know what, beyond that, he'll do. I talked to him [Friday]. He's going to do whatever he feels he needs to do. It's not much more complex than that. I don't think he'll go home. I think it's either [UConn] or Europe. I'm not trying to [get a feel for which way he's leaning]. The other kids are coming to join our program. You have to want to join our program. And I think Ater does, but he has a lot of responsibilities."
Usually Final 4 teams get overrated heading into the next season...plus we're returning quite a few guys. Not sure what they're thinking with that ranking. It's funny cause they have Tulsa ranked 4 spots ahead of us when they're the team that's all excited because one of our scrubs is transferring there. And how is Villanova the 4th best team in the nation?
