I'm sorry but if I am one of the top basketball players in the country then there is no chance I risk my future by playing football.
I wonder if Josh Smith quits as JFLO mentioned. The risk/reward involved just doesn't seem to make sense to me either. Might be fun to play football for awhile, but you're putting quite a bit at risk. Particularly a guy like Wroten who the NBA will probably be all over if he improves his J a bit and shows he can really focus and use that killer instinct on a game to game basis.
Tyshawn Taylor out 3-4 weeks with a dislocated thumb suffered in ba fight between some of the football and basketball players
Does anyone else thing that Taylor is a lottery pick some day? He's got a lot of potential and has proven to be very effective on the court for the Jayhawks. I seriously think that he is a pre-season candidate for the Naismith award and I think Kansas is going to go far this year, especially with Aldrich returning.
fr. deniz kilic might be suspended by ncaa (rumor is as much as 29 games, and he wouldnt be allowed to rs); apparently he went to play in turkey this year (his home country) and one of his teammates got paid (he didnt); huggins told him not to go for this reason
enes kanter will be lucky to ever play in ncaa; same situation as kilic, only hes been doing it a couple years; his "agents" may have screwed him over in this case
Mike Gilchrist is apparently planning an unofficial visit to 'Nova, should be in one of the next two weekends. He's visited Rutgers and Michigan recently and apparently enjoyed both, but most still think it'll come down to Kentucky and Villanova, with the majority thinking that Kentucky is the school to beat. Hard not to get excited about a guy like Gilchrist showing interest in your school though, so I couldn't help but post this.
I would love to see Gilchrist end up at Villanova instead of Kentucky. He is still going to be a great player if he were to not go to Kentucky.
Has anyone read the story on Rivals regarding Ray McCallum Jr.? His dad is the coach at University of Detroit (who was like 9-23 last season) and wants him to commit there, but McCallum has offers from schools like Arizona, Florida among others.
Talk about putting your kid in a tough situation...
Dad has to get real.
Personally, if he isn't an elite recruit, why would he go to a mid-major school over the opportunity to go to a highly publicized school and possibly go the NBA?
