  • First shot of The Joker from set of The Dark Knight.

I really hope The Joker comes off the way he should have 18 years ago in the first Batman movie. The sadistic sociopathic killer who blames Batman for what he has become. I cannot wait for this movie.

This is a risky move re-doing the Joker in the movie with the masterful performance Jack Nicholson did in the original. Hopefully Ledger's performance is up to par and the movie continues along the lines of Batman Begins because I think they did an excellent job on that movie after some abysmal movies.

Nicholson's joker was brilliant, but he's just a brilliant actor. Heath Ledger can be underrated. He has done some excellent work. I'm very interested in seeing the dark aspects of the Batman saga that we got in Batman and Batman Returns.

Masterful preformance? He butchered the character; all he did was act like himself after a few drinks. I don't get why people see that prefromance as The Joker. The Joker is a criminal mastermind who has deep psychological issues, not some guy who just laughs a lot.

Jack Nicholson was great in Batman no way any body tops that.

Yeah, the Jack Nicholson Joker wasn't anything like the character in the comics. Supposedly this one will be, which is good.

Oh don't get me wrong, Nicholson is a great actor but his preformance in Batman was really just himself with some make up on. It might have been entertaining but it lacked all the character depth that The Joker has.

The "10 Things I Hate About You" reference was about Heath Ledger not Jack. I understand that Jack's joker wasn't the Joker of the comics, but Jack still did a great job acting. You can't blame him for the script!

Right. This Joker will be more of the comic book and a VERY different character than Jacks. It will be fine.

I recently rewatched Batman because I was on a Tim Burton kick. I have to say that Nicholson was excellent. He did his own take on the Joker, but he made the role his own. It was a very well done movie overall. Nicholson stole the show, but I think that's to be expected in a Batman movie. Generally, the villain gets a lot of face time.

Which is why I dislike the previous Batman films, and adore the Christopher Nolan Batman films. It is more true to the legacy, first of all. Secondly it expounds on the character of Batman, with that being the focal point. Rather than the previous films which focused on the eccentric villains.

While Nicholson preformance was great, he wasn't the Joker, he was being the same character he is in every movie. The real Joker is a sadistic pyscopathic killer, not an evil Mary Kay rep.

I thought Jack was a sadistic killer in Batman? He murdered people without reason and didn't seem to care, is that not psycho enough for ya?

I think he did an outstanding job, but with that said he did it with a more comical approach as opposed to cold and sadistic approach as the character was in the comics.
