This is not true because the Colts recently freed up around 14 MIL in cap room.

Dam8610 02-23-2007 03:00 PM

The Colts are currently approximately $14.8 million under thanks to the recent restructing of Peyton Manning's and Robert Mathis's respective contracts.

Jughead10 02-23-2007 03:02 PM

Giants are between 19 and 20 with all their cuts.

Kinda scary.

Jonathan_VIlma 02-23-2007 03:08 PM

The Jets just drop 3.1 million after cutting Trey Teague and Kevin Barlow.

Too bad they never use any of it. As a Chiefs fan you should know about the Chargers being the most frugal team in the NFL.

True but they do know how to draft I wish my team did.

P.S. Insert Ryan Leaf joke here _______

Shiver 02-23-2007 03:26 PM

Once Kerney opts out, the Falcons number will be around 10$ Million under.

princefielder28 02-23-2007 04:06 PM

I think the Packers is right :)

kevin148 02-23-2007 04:41 PM

With so many teams being so far under the cap I would think A.Thomas and N.Clements are pretty much lickin their chops right about now.

regoob2 02-23-2007 05:48 PM

with that much money SF should get some top FA's :D

They use it all to re-sign players and sign average players through free agency. And you can't forget about the draft. But other than that, ya it's scary

Clements/June/Kerney/Other big name FA's are going to cash in

Splat 02-24-2007 08:15 AM

This is a very weak year for FA IMO so yes the stars that are out there are going to get huge money.

Oh yeas. I just hope my Saints doesn't make a fool out of themselves and pays a guy way more than he is worth.

21ST 02-24-2007 09:31 AM

in the end the redskins should get to about 13 million under

OzTitan 02-24-2007 09:35 AM

The Titans will be between 20 and 30 mil under the cap once FA opens, not $37M. It was never an accurate figure, it was a prediction made by GM who knew his days were numbered and was clearly the absolute best case scenario likely factoring in all the releases and possible restructures he could have made, also probably not factoring in the roster bonuses due on Henry and a few others. Until they're officially announced, I'd bet most of these are off to some degree.

The Jets will drop have 4.5 million more due to the loss of Barlow, Teague, and Martin.

ftbl88 02-24-2007 01:49 PM

I don't know where you got this from, but it is way off. The Eagles have 12.4 mil in cap space, not 3.6. Thats not the only one that is wrong too. I'd say at least 75% of these are wrong.

detknowitall 02-24-2007 03:49 PM

this was as of the start of Feb. The NFL hasnt updated since then. All cuts will take effect March 1st and adjust at that time. I'll try to repost when they do.

tylerb929 02-24-2007 04:29 PM

Colts should be closer to 18-19 million. They had a little over 4 million at the end of the season plus the 14.2 that Manning and Mathis added for restructuring.
