2008 NFL Standings Prediction

So Kalbears made an interesting thread last year about picking your team's record now and seeing how close you've come at the end of the season. Here is what he said:

Everyone thinks that their team will be the best thing since sliced butter, foam fingers or Revolution Helmets. I think it would be cool to get just random people posting what they think their teams (ONLY your team) record will be at the end of the year. At the end I'm going to count up all the wins and losses and see if it is anywhere near .500. Homerisms allowed (just be realistic), you can only choose one record (no 6-8 wins and 8-10 losses. Just one EX: 7-9) and no dissing other teams.

AFC North
Bengals- (9-7) 1 vote
Browns- (9.5-6.5) 2 votes
Ravens-
Steelers- (11-5) 3 votes

AFC South

Jaguars-
Titans- (9-7) 1 vote
Texans- (9-7) 1 vote

AFC East
Bills- (8.33-7.66) 3 votes
Dolphins- (5-11) 1 vote
Jets-
Patriots- (13.5-2.5) 2 votes

AFC West
Broncos-
Chargers-
Chiefs- (5-11) 3 votes
Raiders- (8.25-7.75) 4 votes

NFC North
Bears- (8.5-7.5) 2 votes
Lions- (7.33-8.66) 3 votes
Packers- (10.5-5.5) 4 votes
Vikings- (10-6) 2 votes

NFC South
Buccaneers- (10-6) 2 votes
Falcons- (4-12) 2 votes

I will pick the Giants to go 12-4.

RaiderFan 07-10-2008 09:22 AM

Raiders 11-5

MetSox17 07-10-2008 09:22 AM

Well i guess homerism got a good head-start ;) Lol.

I'll predict the Cowboys go 14-2

princefielder28 07-10-2008 09:27 AM

Packers : 11-5

Gay Ork Wang 07-10-2008 09:29 AM

bears go 9-7

Mr. Carter 07-10-2008 09:38 AM

Every NFL team is going to be over .500.

This thread isn't meant for trolling, but for predictions. Wait until after the season and then we will see who we should laugh at.

Couldn't resist after I saw the Bears prediction at 9-7 and Raiders at 11-5.

I'll give the Packers 10 wins, mostly because they're in the weak NFC North and they don't have many weakpoints unless Rodgers self-destructs.

Gay Ork Wang 07-10-2008 09:50 AM

The NFC north is the 2nd best division in the NFC, maybe 3-4th in the whole NFL...

and why shouldnt the bears make it to 9-7? They have been injury bugged and went 7-9. They improved the Oline and Forte cant be alot worse than benson. The Raiders 11-5 was a joke as far as i see that

The whole NFC is terrible except the NFC East. Bears and Lions are both jokes. Vikings put together some talent but they haven't proven it on the field and that passing game is a big question mark. Packers have the most proven team but there's still the big question mark at QB.

You really think the Bears are going to be able to finish higher than the Packers or Vikings?

Go_Eagles77 07-10-2008 10:01 AM

eagles 9-7

Gay Ork Wang 07-10-2008 10:01 AM

who said that they are going to be higher?

Any explanations why the bears are jokes? they have been to the superbowl and lost respectively and suddenly they are jokes?

They have no offense (one of the worst in the NFL).

Their defense is probably 3rd best in the division.

They are simply not that good. Just like the Lions.

And if you think 3 teams in the NFC North are going to be over .500...oh man...

bored of education 07-10-2008 10:05 AM

Chiefs 6-10.

seriously? 3rd best? First you talk about the Vikings havent played yet, yet u take them over the bears D? The bears are just not that bad as u think they are and ur reasons ur giving are all just horrible.

is 9-7 possible? Absolutely. Is it optimistic? Yes it is. Still possible. Seriously if u have anything to say then contribute to the thread and dont go out there in every thread and call out people when u dont know anything.

Vikings have a much better offense and the D played better last season, and made additions this year.

It's possible the 49ers win the Super Bowl next season. That doesn't change the fact that it would be idiotic to make that prediction.

Eagles 16-0. Brian Westbrook rushes for 9,612 yards and 143 TD. He also catches 361 passes for 7,000 yards and 121 more TD.

I'll be realistic and say 10-6, 11-5 if we get lucky.

I'll just put you down as 10-6.

vidae 07-10-2008 10:46 AM

I guess 6-10 for the Chiefs is semi-realistic. I'd probably pencil them in for another 4-12 season, but I like the sound of 6-10. It sounds like IMPROVEMENT! ; )

xooberon 07-10-2008 11:12 AM

Panthers: 10-6

Caddy 07-10-2008 11:18 AM

Buccaneers: 10-6. I think the Buccaneers can win the division again. Injuries could derail the team but the same can be said of every team.

MetSox17 07-10-2008 11:26 AM

Blindsite says the Panthers are going 19-0.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the Patriots lose more than 4 games this year. The Bears being at or over .500 wouldn't surprise me either, but i think for their sake, they shouldn't.
