Plummer to Raiders?

POSTED 3:36 p.m. EST, March 3, 2007

BUCS TO SHIP PLUMMER TO RAIDERS?

There's speculation in league circles that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will eventually trade quarterback Jake Plummer to the Oakland Raiders.

The thinking is that the Raiders are interested in acquiring Plummer as a short-term starter while expected No. 1 overall pick JaMarcus Russell gets ready to play, but that there's no way that the Raiders and Broncos ever could have done business together.

Enter the Bucs, who could end up being the straw man for a deal that puts Plummer in silver and black.

Stay tuned.

if it means that we would be getting russell than **** it, it would be ok.

What would the raiders need to give up??

bucpimpin 03-03-2007 02:50 PM

Plummer and Tampa's #4 pick for Oaklands #1 overall pick. Bucs pick up CJ.

I think this is a fairly smart move. I'de rather have Plummer in @ QB than Walter, but OAK's offense is different so I don't know if it will work.

No way that happens

Sounds like a feasible trade

You could argue a 4th rounder, like we did?

You do realize that trade values Jake Plummer as the 16th overall pick in the entire draft, right?

Namy 03-03-2007 03:01 PM

Unless Plummer really wants to stick it to us (which I don't really see him doing), he will definitely retire if he gets traded to the Raiders. Why would he want to get traded to a horrible team and be a veteran QB for another promising rookie QB?

Bucs are gonna ship Plummer to the Texans closer to draft day.

Count it.

I see this as much more likely destination for Plummer than Oakland. I don't even think Plummer is worth a 4th. He's only going to play like 4-5 games and than Russell/Quinn will start.....IF we draft a QB.

Chucky 03-03-2007 04:43 PM

could he and like a fourth rounder be traded for randy

Alot will depend on what happens on draft day for the Texans. If the texans get Quinnthey'll have alot less interest in plummer, though they'll also have no interest and Carr and might just swap the 2.

geaux tigers 03-03-2007 06:04 PM

if plummer is saying he doesnt have the fire anymore and wants to retire, u think he wants to go play for the raiders!??

NIN1984 03-03-2007 09:02 PM

Plummer wants to play for the Texans, he could start for them and maybe play the whole season. If Raiders draft Russell at some point maybe mid-season Lane Kiffin will want JaMarcus to play, Plummer won't like that.
