LJ says he wants out of KC

http://www.kansascity.com/sports/chi...ry/955454.html

ďHopefully, my future is not with this organization,Ē Johnson said after rushing 10 times for 18 yards. ďThe things that have been going around, Iím not saying itís (all) their fault. Half of it is mine with off-the-field (stuff) and other things that go on.

ďOn the football field, my role definitely diminished once I got back. I felt like I wasnít getting as much (work) as I thought I could and helped as much as I could. They shifted their powers to other players on this team offensively. You kind of feel your time is up in this city and with this team.Ē

ďItís the environment,Ē he said. ďItís got everything to do with the environment. Itís what everybody needs. The city is tired of me. The organization has kind of run its course (for him). Itís time to move on regardless of what kind of changes they could make. Iíve been here when they made other changes. Itís just time to let go.Ē

ďIíve had two or three 65-yard runs, and I hadnít had that when I was 21,Ē Johnson said. ďThereís definitely nothing about me wearing down, After I came back, I was on point to get over 1,000. When you have 12 (rushes) for 108 (yards), that says a lot as far as Iíve still got a lot more left.Ē

i think he would work well in denver...wait everyone works well in denver
where do all washed up running backs go?

tjsunstein 12-29-2008 08:20 AM

Shockerrrrr

SeanTaylorRIP 12-29-2008 08:38 AM

Whoever gets him is like the Ravens getting Mcgahee.

Splat 12-29-2008 08:44 AM

I don't think he will be back unless he takes a pay cut which is unlikely his trade value has dropped big time and no team is going to take him on his current contract he will be playing for a lot less no matter where he is next year.

DENVER 10 char

Only if we cut him no way we trade him in the Div.

SeanTaylorRIP 12-29-2008 08:52 AM

He can go back to Pennsylvania to the Eagles or Steelers.

T-RICH49 12-29-2008 08:55 AM

let him go and either sign Sproles or draft a RB and let Charles become the primary R.Jamaal fits this offense better anyway

The Great Jonathan Vilma 12-29-2008 09:01 AM

I wouldn't want to touch him. Guy is a headcase.

and to think Carl kept him over Jared Allen...Thanks Carl :(

vidae 12-29-2008 09:43 AM

Yeah Carl definitely kept the wrong "superstar".. could have gotten rid of LJ and kept one of the best DEs in the game. Hooray.

I hope LJ is either traded or cut. Tired of watching him run into his own blockers and give up. :)

who would want this aging lockerroom cancer for anything more than 1 year?

Al Davis maybe?

diabsoule 12-29-2008 10:44 AM

I'm sure there is some team out there that would be willing to give KC a 1st or 2nd rounder for him.

tjsunstein 12-29-2008 10:56 AM

Shaun Alexander 2.0. Out of work in 09.

Patriots I guess.

Geo 12-29-2008 11:13 AM

What a complete scumbag. You signed a huge contract last year, you don't dictate anything and you should keep your idiot mouth shut.

Help your team win a game.

bigbluedefense 12-29-2008 11:18 AM

wasn't he supposed to learn his lesson from his off field situation and learn to be a better person?

i guess that went out the window huh? i can't stand this turd.

He hasn't lost it on the field yet, he's just a cancer.

bigbluedefense 12-29-2008 11:24 AM

LJ is one of the best pure runners in the game. But with all his baggage, i wouldn't touch him with a 5 foot pole.

RBs are too easy to find to sweat him like that. No thanks.

fair enough. i haven't seen him other than highlights this year. i take it he really lost a step? i always thought it was just terrible blocking.

It mostly is, coupled with horrible playcalling. Is he the same back he was in 2005/2006? No, but I wouldn't say he's that much worse. The right side of our line is absolutely terrible but he has been decently productive when active this year.

A team will get itself a good football player, but like previously mentioned, a locker room cancer.

i'd disagree.

i don't know how much of a step he had to lose, but from what i remember, in his best season (now three years ago), he actually hit holes. even when they didn't happen to be gaping. now, he doesn't. even against denver, i expected more. but he looked sort of timid, even when a hole existed. further, he didn't look to me like the same back he was, and while that's a
pretty vague, unquantifiable statement, i don't know how to say it better.

as a sidenote, the guy's very nearly 30. for that reason alone i don't want anything to do with him and his contract.

Wasn't the majority of his contract all in signing bonus? If that's the case, the team trading is just responsible for paying him while they choose to have him on the team. For a 4th round pick, i'm sure there's a team out there willing to see if he can play like he did few years ago.
