How did you team improve this off-season

The Ravens

Offense

improvemet:We got OHer in the draft setting up a nasty offensive line. Also Flacco gets a year more experience

how we got worse:We lost Neal who is a very good lead blocker(we are replacing him w/ McClain who can do good but IDK if he will be that good.) Heap is getting older so I doubt he plays a full season or is a big part of the offense. Also our #1 WR just decided to ditch us 2 weeks before training camp.

Defense

improvment: Kelly Gregg and Dawan Landry are coming back from injuries. We got Foxworth and Carr in free agency so our secondary gets better, no more 3rd string SS being the nickelback like in the pittsburgh playoff game. We added Webb and Kruger in the draft so we have more young depth in the secondary and on the dline.

how we got worse:We lost Chris McCalister so we dont have a CB that can handle big WR such as Boldin,Marshall etc. Also we lost Bart Scott and even though I think Gooden will replace Scott fine we are still replacing a solid veteran w/ unproven player

Steelers:

Offense - We add another year with the line together. Maybe added Urbik to the lineup if he proves good enough. Nothing really improved except adding experience. I think Holmes will be better as he has bulked up to over 200 lbs this offseason. Mendenhall comes back which should prove beneficial.

Defense - I hate to say it but replacing Foote with Timmons is an improvement. We no longer have Bryant McFadden but I'm not so sure that is a loss as he only played in like 6 games all season. We have gotten a year older with all the starters along the line but did pick up Ziggy Hood, hopefully the heir to the BAMF that is Aaron Smith. Woodley having a full year under his belt it going to be awesome. If Hood hurries and gets signed and get some reps in, with him in rotation and the addition of Timmons as full time, we are even better on defense. Which is scary because our schedule is WAY easier (or so it seems) this year than it was last year.

I am interested in how Timmons will do. I liked him as a prospect. I kind of feel the same way w/ Gooden replacing Scott, I think Gooden can do better.

Bengals -

Offense: Obviously a big man like Andre Smith improves our running game. But the less obvious improvement is resigning Cedric Benson. This time around he'll be able to learn the entire play book, and get into a peak condition though training camp. With both Smith and Benson upgrading our running game, it's possible we'll be able to return to an offense that's more like the Bengals of 05' rather than 07' with Carson able to use the play action.

Defense: Rey Maualuga is obviously going to help a lot, but I think Michael Johnson is going to be real game changer for us. Our biggest weakness on defense has always been pass rush, and if this guy can come in on obvious passing plays and disrupt some things for us our defense might actually be able to get off the field.

Existing players who are coming back from injuries / suspensions or are just looking better in training camp: Carson Palmer, Chris Henry, Chad Ochocinco, Cedric Benson, Jonathan Joseph.

Steelers defense is going to be improved over last years squad IMO. Hard to claim since they were so dominant last year, but Im expecting better out of them this year. Hamptons in a contract year and should play for his paycheck, Hood can bring some young energy to the line, Timmons adds an entire new threat to the defense as a every down player. Secondary was very injured last year and if they can stay healthy it will help.

Offense should be about the same. Washingtons gone, but McDonald and Sweed are there to take reps. Sweed showed alot of potential last year, running right passed the coverage, hopefully he can hang on to the ball. Having a healthy Parker in a contract year and Mendenhall could really really improve the run game. No improvement to the OL will hole the offense back from its full potential.

*** is replacing McFadden.. he had like the best YPC average against or Lowest amount of catches against him in the league last year.
