Kerry Wood back to DL; Should Cubs trade him?

This guy is unbelievable.
trade him now.

rocco31fb 06-09-2006 05:33 PM

If they could get some return on him, DO IT

BuckNaked 06-09-2006 05:40 PM

They really wouldn't get any significant value in return for him at the moment.

D-Unit 06-09-2006 05:52 PM

I bet the Rangers would love to have him. What better place for him to pick up his career than his hometown state?

P-L 06-09-2006 06:10 PM

I'm sure many teams would want him. Granted they aren't going to give up and elite prospect or an all-star, but if the Cubs put him on the block teams would come calling.

Scotty D 06-09-2006 06:48 PM

The should shut him down for a year or something.

Maroney22 06-09-2006 06:51 PM

hes so incredibly worthless he and Prior just cant stay healthy. The curse lives on

Brodeur 06-09-2006 08:46 PM

I have a tendency to blame it on Dusty Baker for leaving his pitchers out too long, but Wood's delivery is just prone to injury. Prior has a very good delivery, but it's really just freak accidents. I think Prior will be able to stay healthy once he comes back, but the Cubs need to get rid of Wood soon. He is just too injury prone.

thetedginnshow 06-09-2006 08:57 PM

How about Alfonso Soriano for him?

Damix 06-09-2006 09:06 PM

Trade him for what? Not many people will take him

CGF 216/137 06-09-2006 09:07 PM

No way, and I'm only saying that for the cubs good

Even though Soriano is probably my least favorite athlete of all time, the Nats would have to be so dumb to do that. One of the best hitters in the league for a pitchers that is constantly hurt.

Finsfan79 06-09-2006 09:31 PM

His value is like crap right now because he has been on the DL so much for so long. Plus a high salary next year/FA coming up

Well, he's already said that he's not going back there, so while it's a huge risk, I assume that that might reap the greatest reward. Of course, that's because I figure that most teams will attempt to low-ball the Nationals since they know Soriano is leaving after this year, but I could be wrong.

NewAgePack 06-09-2006 10:06 PM

the problem is he would leave and be great somewhere else. his troubles can be fixed.

Ravens1991 06-09-2006 10:08 PM

do the cubs still want Conine and Millar. you think it could be Conine and Millar for Wood

rainbeaukid2 06-10-2006 03:13 AM

while he is hurt, i doubt they could get anyone or anything good for him.

iworshipbender 06-10-2006 03:20 AM

dump him ASAP

slightlyaraiderfan 06-10-2006 03:22 AM

He needs to pitch and show he's somewhat healthy to raise his stock. No team will trade any half decent prospects at this present moment.

I'm sick and tired of both Kerry Wood and Mark Prior. The Cubs Conditioning and Pitching Coaches gave Kerry and Mark exercises and workouts to do over the offseason and niether of them did it. It was to help them keep their arms fresh and tighten up their mechanics and they refused to do it. And now, Kerry's on the DL and Mark hasn't pitched in the majors yet this.

Our franchise put all their hope on these two players' shoulders and it came back to bite them. Mark still has very high value because of his potential. If I were to trade Kerry, I'd do it right now, maybe at least get something for him.k...
