MVP WATCH: Josh Freeman making case...

Thats right I said it! Josh Freeman should be an MVP candidate! You can call it homerism because I am a Bucs fan, but you can't deny that this 22 year old kid has put his team on his back every single week. The defense is average, and we had no running game up until Lagarette Blount started producing. Face it, without Freeman, I don't even know if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers win a single game.

Last time I checked, MVP meant the most valuable player in the league and for his team. I am NOT saying he should/will win it, but geez, at least start considering him and put him in the conversation.

Sign me up.

He should be a candidate - but he's got no chance at winning. Shame.

That is exactly what I'm calling this.

He's very valuable to this team, but MVP !?!?!?!?!?

Paranoidmoonduck 11-01-2010 01:29 AM

Why can't we just have a thread saying "hey, Josh Freeman is pretty awesome" without bringing in the ridiculous idea that he should win MVP?

descendency 11-01-2010 01:33 AM

He's not Peyton Manning so he won't be winning the mvp this year.

soybean 11-01-2010 01:34 AM

Anyone else notice how stupid the statement "We would be winless without Josh" is?

I hope you're joking. I was high on him when he came out, but he still has a long ways to go.

fenikz 11-01-2010 01:42 AM

he played solid but the only play that i can think of where he affected the actual outcome of todays game was the blown coverage on the 40 yard TD pass to Mike Williams the rest was all Max Hall and Blount

also the 20 or so yard scramble

No, he really shouldn't be.

1. Peyton Manning
2. Chris Johnson
3. Drew Brees
4. Phillip Rivers
5. Steven Jackson

Chucky 11-01-2010 01:53 AM

Freeman has made great strides this year but now way in hell should he be in the MVP discussion at this point.

Chris Johnson should be nowhere near MVP talk.

Caddy 11-01-2010 03:36 AM

Top 10 sure. If the Bucs finish the season with 10+ wins (highly unlikely) then we can re-open this conversation. The kid is having a fantastic year but this talk is a little premature.

No. Not even top ten.

Jeez. This thread is dumb.

Saints-Tigers 11-01-2010 04:25 AM

ROFLROFLROFL

Sam Bradford too.

You could easy make a case for him somewhere at the backend of the top 10. He is literally the sole reason we have five victories. Without Freeman it is 2 tops.

Scotty D 11-01-2010 04:53 AM

Not to hijack the thread but my MVP vote would go to Gates.

TornadoRex 11-01-2010 05:04 AM

The kid is the truth.

Peyton Manning, Chris Johnson, Drew Brees, Philip Rivers?

That's a real ROFLROFL. Brees is crap this year and Rivers is leading in stats and lacking in wins to the KANSAS CITY CHIEFS.

ATLDirtyBirds 11-01-2010 05:32 AM

Jesus Christ. How about we rename this, any quarterback playing decent on a winning team=MVP.

TitanHope 11-01-2010 05:43 AM

Until a candidate just distinguishes himself from all others (by that I mean an elite player on an elite team), I have no problem with Freeman being in the conversation.

Although, if one more Bucs fans tells me how awesome Josh Freeman is, I'm going to kill myself.

Brees got hosed not winning one of the last two years but he should be nowhere near a list this year, btw manning hasnt played bad enough for other contenders to be eligeble

Shane P. Hallam 11-01-2010 06:05 AM

All this thread proves to me is that, once again, toonster wins since Freeman was his favorite QB in that draft...
