Multiple sources told FOXSports.com that Virginia Tech cornerback Jayron Hosley and Arizona State linebacker Vontaze Burfict failed their drug tests. NFL teams were informed of the positive results earlier this week.

Hosley had an NCAA-high nine interceptions in 2010 but suffered a hamstring injury and concussion that marred his junior season. Hosley, who decided to turn pro anyway, was projected as a second- or third-round pick before the positive test.

Multiple sources told FOXSports.com that Hosley wrote a letter to NFL teams apologizing for the failed test.

A representative from Impact Sports Management, which represents Hosley, had no comment.

Burfict was considered a potential first-round pick entering the 2011 season. There is now a legitimate possibility he won’t be drafted this weekend.

I bet it was a dietary supplement

fenikz 04-25-2012 11:15 AM

I'll believe it when Schefter says it

And it's weed that he apparently tested positive for

tjsunstein 04-25-2012 11:17 AM

Color me shocked. Never cared for Burfict or his attitude.

Giantsfan1080 04-25-2012 11:31 AM

Glazer is better than Schefter. Take this to the bank.

You mean Bengal or Buccaneer.

But most likely AFL.

This joke is done...new GM in town for Oakland. Al Davis is dead

Abaddon 04-25-2012 11:52 AM

That joke was done a few years ago. Cincinnati has been the league's new halfway house for a while now.

I thought Burfict didn't drink or smoke. The dude isn't draftable.

He's fat & he has a chihuahua! A damn chihuahua!! That pic says it all.

There's a chihuahua nextdoor to me & it won't stop yapping, all day, yeesh. They are absolutely vile creatures.

Asteinebach 04-25-2012 12:18 PM

I'm going to make a bold prediction here, and say that Burfict still gets drafted before the 5th round. Talent-wise, I think a team like KC, San Diego, or Indianapolis taking a risk later on with him.

Damn...perfect case of a picture being worth a thousand words. He looks so soft and pudgy...no dedication to strength or conditioning...pretty pathetic. Not the best idea to pose with your shirt off when trying to get drafted and looking like that.

I actually enjoyed that article and reading some of his comments. It sounds like he needs to see a psychiatrist if he is that shy and bipolar. 4.8 at 245 lbs sounds a lot less terrible than 5.1. I still wouldn't take him before the 7th, if at all.

I_C_DeadPeople 04-25-2012 02:37 PM

In baseball we have the Mendoza line...in terms of the draft we can now say a player that is moving down draft boards is either:

slipping/falling,

free falling OR

BURFICTING !!
