Eugene Amano out for the season
 

Titans C Eugene Amano has been diagnosed with a torn triceps, and is done for the season.
Amano has been the Titans' starting center since 2008, but the team opened his job to competition following a dismal 2011, where he graded out as Pro Football Focus' fourth worst center. Fernando Velasco, Kevin Matthews and UDFA William Vlachos will now compete for the job, with Velasco as the favorite. The Titans may still explore a dried-up free agent market. Due a salary of $3.685 million in 2013, Amano has likely played his last snap with Tennessee.

After the play, it's funny to see Amano on the ground and Jake Scott looking for someone to block. Usually, it's the other way around.

So usually injuries are a bad thing but in this case it could be good? Seems to me that Titans fans might be happy if this guy has no chance to start.

Eugene is good in pass-pro, but is so utterly useless at run blocking that he shouldn't even be considered a starter. And when I say useless I mean ******* inept.

I just can't get over how *** Chris Bosh is.

It'll be Velasco. Titans coaches love him and he's really good in the run game. Matthews has been missing a lot of practice in training camp so far.

He was never a good center. Decent pulling guard when flanked by a good tackle and center, but nothing more than that.
