Eugene Amano out for the season

Titans C Eugene Amano has been diagnosed with a torn triceps, and is done for the season.
Amano has been the Titans' starting center since 2008, but the team opened his job to competition following a dismal 2011, where he graded out as Pro Football Focus' fourth worst center. Fernando Velasco, Kevin Matthews and UDFA William Vlachos will now compete for the job, with Velasco as the favorite. The Titans may still explore a dried-up free agent market. Due a salary of $3.685 million in 2013, Amano has likely played his last snap with Tennessee.

So usually injuries are a bad thing but in this case it could be good? Seems to me that Titans fans might be happy if this guy has no chance to start.

Eugene is good in pass-pro, but is so utterly useless at run blocking that he shouldn't even be considered a starter. And when I say useless I mean ******* inept.

I just can't get over how *** Chris Bosh is.

This post is, like, TOTALLY relevant.

The beginning of a dynasty

Who will be the center of the Dynasty?

Fernando Velasco

or

kevin Matthews

Kevin Matthews. I'm betting on the pedigree.

CashmoneyDrew 08-06-2012 12:11 AM

It'll be Velasco. Titans coaches love him and he's really good in the run game. Matthews has been missing a lot of practice in training camp so far.

It was in the first post as a GIF, it's fine. And Amano is a below average center who is out for the year, what is BBD supposed to say?

No I was watching porn and looking through NFLDC. It's my daily routine.

Titans coach Mike Munchak was impressed with Chris Johnson's performance in Monday's controlled scrimmage with the Falcons.
"...Chris had some great reads. The way he was hitting things, you don’t see hesitation," Munchak said. "I think C.J. looked quick, he was hitting things decisively. When he decided to go outside he hit it hard and showed some speed around the edge." CJwhateverK has been creating a lot of "he's back" buzz since the beginning of Titans camp, but we aren't likely to get an extended look at his reclamation tour in Saturday's preseason opener. Tennessee's second exhibition game is a week from Friday.
I wonder why, oh yeah this guy is gone

Borat 08-06-2012 10:46 PM

So basically it's "thanks for all those those awesome years, but you were sh!tty last year so good ****** riddance loser!"

Something like that?

CashmoneyDrew 08-06-2012 10:50 PM

He was never a good center. Decent pulling guard when flanked by a good tackle and center, but nothing more than that.
