Don't know how much better we'll be this year, but we'll be an exciting team to watch.
Ponder looked bad early on, but he looked damn good from late in the 2nd quarter on. Harvin and Peterson are great weapons to build around, and Rudolph looks like he might be another one, and getting Simpson back could make our offense damn good, it's all on Ponder's shoulders as the O-line looked better this year, although the Jaguars aren't much to get a read off of.
It looks like the pass D will suck again this year. Gabbert looked much better this year, but I'm not sure how much of that was him improving versus our pass d still sucking. We're going to have to spend a high pick on that next draft...yet, again. I thought Brinkley played like **** as well as Guion and Evans not doing much, really hurt us up the middle and add on that MJD is damn tough to bring down and our run D didn't look like much either, although I have to say they did look better in the second half. Allen had a great first few plays, but had that sack taken away(I thought he had timed it perfectly, but it was damn close at the very least) and then didn't do much after that. I thought that Robison played a damn good game, as did both Greenway and Henderson. Raymond and Smith had their moments of shoddy play, but our S play was much better this game than it was last year. Winfield was pretty much invisible IMO other than making a couple tackles in the running game. Cook had some nice plays including one excellent breakup against Laurent Robinson, but then got beat, like he did by Shorts on the late TD, which I'm not sure what happened, but I have a hard time believing that with all the cover 2 we play(which did seem a bit less than last year, but still plenty of it) that we would run a cover zero look in a situation like that.
Walsh was perfect all game, great on kickoffs and every kick was right down the middle, even in the clutch of the biggest kick of his life. Special teams coverage was damn good all game, and Kluwe was good, with the only iffy punt rolling quite a ways turning a mediocre punt into a damn good result.
