MLB Mock Offseason 2012 - Discussion Thread
 

The 2012 MLB Offseason is in full swing. Frustrated by the moves your team's GM has made or not made? Think you can do better? Then sign up for this mock and become the GM you wish your team had.

Just post what team you want and it's yours so long as no one else has taken them.

Will run with the rosters as of Dec 19, 2012. Any changes made in MLB on that date does not happen in this mock.

There is no Trade Commissioner. If you make a trade, then post it in the trade thread. 5 yes votes, gets your trade approved. 5 no votes, gets your trade rejected. Which ever happens first, decides the outcome.

Free Agents will sign with the highest bidder. Highest bid wins after 8 hours has passed. Each new bid must increase by at least 10% annually of the previous bid. For the purposes of this mock, other factors like weather, home state, winning team or any other comfort level factor will not be used as a deciding factor. Just "highest bid" wins. Don't be an idiot about and spend a billion bucks just to land Nick Swisher. Teams will be judged in the end.

So it says rosters are accurate as of December 19, but does that mean we're going to be building off of all of the same free agents as in real life? Or are we basically rebooting everything?

Reboot! Is my vote.

But seriously what is the point of doing a mock of season if half of the FA are signed. Not to mention how do we redo what they have done?

I would take the Oakland A's if nobody wants them.

You just want a reboot because your team spent $39 million on Shane Victorino. and $9.5 million on Drew.

Well I just don't see the point in partaking in a mock offseason after the offseason has happened.

How about finishing up this offseason and then do next offseason too?

Well, we tried. Guess this is dead.

There isn't enough people to really make it worth while.

Should have done it prior to FA. Or we could try again after the holidays.
