Drew Bledsoe.

Anyone think he will be picked up somewhere or is his career of being a short gap starter over?

Jay 04-02-2007 08:30 AM

I wouldn't mind seeing the Pats bringing him back as a backup, but realistically, his best opportunity is probably in Kansas City...

luckyjackaubrey 04-02-2007 08:34 AM

I think Drew is done. Mostly on his own accord. He will not accept a camp invite without being assured to be the starter. If we see him in uniform again it will probably be as a mid-season injury replacement or something along the lines of the Vinnie Testaverde scenario in New England last year.

NIN1984 04-02-2007 08:58 AM

If a team loses a QB do to injury Iím sure someone will end up signing him during training camp or pre-season.

portermvp84 04-02-2007 09:38 AM

His last stop was Big D. He wants a starting job but teams only want him as a back up.

NotoRussell 04-02-2007 10:07 AM

would be great if he can help Oak's young QB to learn from him, like in New England and Dallas

I'm not sure how much of a teacher he really was to Tony Romo. And he's definitely not willing to be a backup. In the Thanksgiving game last year, Parcells wanted to send Bledsoe in once the game was won, and Bledsoe basically said no thanks.

etk 04-02-2007 12:53 PM

I think Atlanta is giving him a look

bearsfan_51 04-02-2007 01:21 PM

He's done.

bearsfan_51 04-02-2007 01:22 PM

I am curious if any team will give Aaron Brooks and Tim Rattay a look. I'm suprised nobody has signed Rattay, he's decent veteran insurance.

Flyboy 04-02-2007 01:24 PM

I wouldn't mind if we picked up Rattay as a backup... would make me breathe easier.

princefielder28 04-02-2007 04:06 PM

He will never start another game but if a team really needs a backup he could do that.

Big Mike 04-02-2007 04:22 PM

did he win a ring with the Pats?

He got one with the 1st Super Bowl. You can say he earned it because he got the Pats to the Super Bowl after Brady was injured in the AFC title game.

jkpigskin 04-02-2007 06:34 PM

hes def not done
he'll find someplace

bigbluedefense 04-02-2007 06:40 PM

He would have a couple of years as a backup who could win over a starting job, but his piss poor attitude and unwillingness to be a mentor will cost him. Nobody wants that kind of presence in the lockerroom, especially when youre skills are diminished, and you have ridiculously poor pocket presence.

Scotty D 04-02-2007 06:48 PM

I think he will sign after Harrington and Carr if he does.

NFLBOY 04-02-2007 07:41 PM

If that's the case, he won't play again. I can't see anyone wanting Harrington.

I hear Toronto does.....

And that is when you know your career is over, when the only team offering you a contract is from the CFL.

is Bledsoe a potential hall of famer?

Not unless Dave Kreig and Vinny Testeverde are too.

So many good nicknames escape my mind but here are a few...

"Bleedslow"
"The Statue"

Would be the absolute worst fit in the history of the NFL.

BLACKnGOLD 04-03-2007 12:01 AM

The Giants could use a backup.
