Mount Rushmore for your favorite team (Since 1990)

Saw this topic on another site's forum and thought it might lead to some interesting debate here. Wanted to keep the players somewhat relative to what we've known in recent time.

For Miami, I'd have to say Ray Lewis, Ken Dorsey, Butch Davis and Edgerrin James.

Thoughts?

Phil Fulmer, Peyton Manning, Eric Berry would for sure be 3 of the 4. 4th would be tough.

Probably either Tee Martin or Al Wilson.

Gotta be Tee Martin IMO.

Man this is a tough one

For Florida State I'll go with

Derrick Brooks, Peter Warrick, Charlie Ward, and Bobby Bowden. It was very hard leaving Warrick Dunn off of this list. If it was players only he would replace Bowden. Marvin Jones would have also been a solid choice

SickwithIt1010 04-01-2013 10:21 PM

Pete Carroll, Reggie, Leinart, annnnnnnnd a guy like Barkley to be honest.

You and Marqise Lee are done. Take him off your sig RIGHT NOW!

BallerT1215 04-01-2013 10:29 PM

Bowden - Charlie Ward - Peter Warrick - Warrick Dunn

I feel dirty not having one defensive player on this for FSU...absolutely dirty...

Honorable Mention - Derrick Brooks, Marvin Jones, Ernie Sims, Andre Wadsworth, Anquan Boldin, Chris Weinke.

Lee hasnt left yet. Ask me in a year and it'd be different. Bark makes it right now for leading them through the sanctions.

Yeah. The title says "since 1990."

None of my nominees would be included if this was a comprehensive list.

ChiFan24 04-02-2013 12:01 AM

Rocket Ismail, Brady Quinn, Manti Te'o, Manti Te'o's girlfriend.

sbh15 04-02-2013 01:06 AM

Tim Tebow, Steve Spurrier are locks. if Emmitt Smith didn't just barely predate this discussion he probably would be, too. I guess Danny Wuerffel gets the nod.... for the fourth spot, is it wrong to put Urban Meyer? you'd have a very difficult time arguing any player or coach has been as successful as a Gator as Meyer was

BallerT1215 04-02-2013 01:35 AM

Coming from a FSU fan, Wuerffel has to be a lock.

pierce2walker 04-02-2013 02:02 AM

For UCLA I'd probably go:

Jonathan Ogden, Cade McNown, Maurice Drew, and I'll go with Carnell Lake.

Was a tough debate for that 4th spot between guys like Lake, DeShaun Foster, J.J. Stokes, and Marcedes Lewis, but I felt like getting a defensive guy in there. Also Troy Aikman would obviously be on there, but he just barely missed the time period cut off.

You forgot the illegal benefits!

fatso 04-02-2013 02:12 AM

Aaron Rodgers, Marshawn Lynch, Tony Gonzalez

Grizzlegom 04-02-2013 06:52 AM

Joe Paterno, Kerry Collins, Paul Posluszny, LaVar Arrington

The first three were easy...the final choice was tough as there are about 4-5 other guys I could have put there...

Don Vito 04-02-2013 07:05 AM

Eli, Archie, P-Willie, Oher.

Deuce and McCluster are probably next in line.

badgerbacker 04-02-2013 08:54 AM

Barry Alvarez, Ron Dayne, Montee Ball, and Joe Thomas.

Jim Leonard and Russell Wilson would be honorable mentions. Really tough leaving Leonard off the list since he was basically the symbol of the program for his 4 years as a walk-on who later earned his scholarship and played in every game from his true freshman year as a special teamer through his senior year. With Russell, I was surprised how much I considered him even though he was only with the program for one year. Just goes to show you how much he impacted the program in a short time.

Other people that crossed my mind were JJ Watt, Lee Evans, Jamar Fletcher, Anthony Davis, Brooks Bollinger, Erasmus James, and John Stocco.

I feel like I'm forgetting people, but that's what I come up with without researching.

Mark Ingram
Shaun Alexander
Julio Jones
