Early Look @ 2014 NFL Draft

Real early look at the 2014 NFL draft. Pretty sure everyone might agree with the #1 pick, people knew that in October this past year with how great he was. If he does anything like he did last year and has not injury issues, he should be there. Tons of skilled receivers in this draft potentially, and with the Dyer situation in question a running back is hard to find at an elite level yet. And I like a lot of the offensive tackles as well, corner is a little weak though.

And it is all just crazy projection but fun to do right after this year is finished.

1 Jadeveon Clowney DE South Carolina JR

31 C.J. Mosley Alabama SR
32 Dri Archer RB/WR Kent State S

If the trend of small slot receivers and change of pace guys keeps up, that will really help the likes of DeAnthony Thomas, Dri Archer and Venric Mark. Normally guys like that would never go 1st round in the draft. However they will all have to improve their route running ability to become a true slot receiver and learn to play without the ball in their hands as a running back. Be interesting how Denard Robinson translates to the NFL, that could tell a lot, because like these players he is a better running back than receiver arguably.

Players I had that almost made that 1st round cut and are in the conversation.

Nix is your #9 guy and Tuitt isn't in your top 32?

TitanHope 04-27-2013 10:19 PM

Anthony Barr and Jordan Matthews are my man crushes.

Matthews is my #1 WR. Lee and Watkins can take it.

fenikz 04-27-2013 10:21 PM

Matthews would be my #1 OT and no one should be ahead of Bridgewater including Clowney

ph90702 04-27-2013 10:25 PM

Tim Cornett third round.

Alex Smith is bound to be average enough to win you 6 games. Sorry, bro.

We'll see. If you're taking a quarterback #1 overall, he better be in the elite prospect territory.

SickwithIt1010 04-27-2013 10:31 PM

Like IrishFan said, Tuitt is better than Nix.

Randall Telfer is on the same level as Grimble. USC is very blessed to have a great pair of TE's.

I didn't mean the Chiefs, just in general. We'll win too many games.

Cigaro 04-27-2013 10:36 PM

Zach Mettenberger is absolute garbage.

also you forgot Will Sutton

I also feel like David Fales is one of the QB's who is gonna open some eyes next year.

BallerT1215 04-27-2013 10:42 PM

Look out for RB James Wilder form FSU as well.

I keep seeing people say this, and I keep feeling like I have to say - Fales has a weak arm. I don't see any zip on his throws, and I can't imagine him going high in the draft. He might well be a big name in college football next season, but he doesn't have an NFL arm.

Don Vito 04-27-2013 10:50 PM

Moncrief and Aaron Morris are legit. After no Rebels drafted this year, they both should be taken early next year. Maybe Nick Brassell too. I think Cody Prewitt will come back for his senior year but he is an awesome talent. Bo Wallace could do wonders for his stock this season if he improves his decision making.

gonzo1105 04-27-2013 10:50 PM

If Jeff Driskel is on your top QB's list or even close to it then I believe you have never watched him. HE BETTER TAKE ONE HUGGGGEEEEEEEEEEE LEAP next year even to be considered anywhere close to the top 6 rounds of the draft.

Robcards 04-27-2013 11:03 PM

Aside from Bridgewater it is FAR to early to tell who the top QBs will be. There's like 6-7 who can legitimately become 1st round picks, or none of them! It will be an interesting season. I'm going to pay more attention this year since I was clearly off about a couple guys value (namely Barkley and Bray).

He's got all the physical talent in the world he just needs to handle the pass rush better. Probably wouldn't hurt if they had some blocking up front.

thebow305 04-27-2013 11:09 PM

You forgot next year's E.J. Manuel...

Mr. Stephen Morris

Bobby Layne 04-28-2013 12:12 AM

He just got arrested but Jeremy Hill from LSU, and Lache Seastrunk should be in the conversation at RB.

Kevin Hogan from Stanford deserves to be in the conversation at QB as well. Although I doubt he comes out next year after only a season and a half starting, but he could be a guy that challenges Bridgewater for that #1 spot.

I love me some Hogan, but I think it's unlikely he declares as well. Having said that, I could see David Shaw taking an NFL job next year and if Hogan's stock is high and his coach is leaving why not declare? Especially how Barkley plummeted after staying in 1 year, I think we'll see a surge of QBs declaring if they're going to get drafted even close to high.

MI_Buckeye 04-28-2013 12:37 AM

No Ka'deem Carey?

SolidGold 04-28-2013 12:48 AM
