Worst in the NFL

I got the idea from an nfl.com article, list the teams with the worst depth chart at each position. You can judge it based on starters, depth, production, potential, whatever you want!

QB: Browns
RB: Rams
WR: Raiders
TE: Raiders
OT: Lions
OG/C: Chargers

DE: Raiders
DT: Colts
LB: Raiders
CB: Jaguars
S: Cowboys
Defense coming soon!

The Rams have THE worst Running Back Depth (as it stands) and Safety Depth.

BallerT1215 05-14-2013 10:12 PM

Bills should be worst @ TE imo.

You could make a case for that. In my opinion though, Chandler has contributed an average of 450yds and 6tds the past two seasons.

I originally had the Browns, but have since moved to the Raiders

Browns need to sign tebow..

yo123 05-14-2013 11:05 PM

Lol at the Raiders being on the list 4 times.

I think the Browns have worse receivers though. I kinda like Denarius Moore.

Josh Gordan is better than Denarius Moore and Greg Little/Davone Bess are better than anything the Raiders could dream of.

Unless they plan to move a Max Unger to tackle that position is paper thin for Seattle.

Okung
Giocomini
Carpenter
McQuistan

To be honest, it was down to the Browns, Patriots and Raiders.

I eliminated the Pats because Amendola, although I don't think he's overly special he is still arguably better than anyone the Browns or Raiders have.

Gordan, Little, Bess have more production than the top 3 in Oakland IMO, the Raiders have talent at the position though. If they hadn't acquired Bess I would have probably listed the Browns here

Thin, yes. But I'd still take them over what Detroit has to offer

jrdrylie 05-15-2013 08:43 AM

I think the Jaguars are worse at QB than the Browns. Gabbert is no better than Weeden. Henne is no better than Campbell. And while Thaddeus Lewis sucks, at least he has played in the NFL. The Jaguars just have two UDFAs.

Carolina's secondary looks like it could be pretty bad, Josh Norman had a decent rookie year though.

Agreed, the depth isn't very good but Okung is a top 10, maybe top 5 OT which is light years ahead of anything the Lion have.

The Cards are pretty poor at OT as well.

I'd give the nod to Jacksonville as well with their current QB situation. I am not a huge fan of Weeden but he's easily better than Gabbert/Henne.

mightytitan9 05-15-2013 10:22 AM

The main reason I gave the nod to the Browns for being the worst is that at least the Jaguars seem to be content with Gabbert and Henne, the Browns have been looking to upgrade all offseason.

For the Jaguars, I think their top 2 QBs actually are better than the Browns. Jason Campbell has never done much for me, while Henne came in last year and showed he could move the offense.

It's very close between the two, but right now I'd choose the Browns as the worst

bigbluedefense 05-15-2013 10:31 AM

Blaine Gabbert is easily the worst qb in the league not named Jimmy Clausen. For that reason alone you gotta go with the Jaguars. I almost feel like they want to tank another year for Bridgewater. I know coaching staffs don't feel this way, but for them to not even get a QB in round 4 when Blaine Gabbert is your qb leads me to believe that they're comfortable building the rest of the team up this year and hoping they can land one next year.

This makes no sense. If you are content with a ****** QB, that doesn't automatically make him not ******. It just means you are an idiot.

mightytitan9 05-15-2013 11:19 AM

I'm looking at the top two spots on the team, I think Gabbert and Henne is a better combo than Weeden and Campbell at this point.

It's more my lack of enthusiasm over Jason Campbell as a #2 than the fact that I think Gabbert or Henne are better than Weeden, but I'm placing some emphasis on the backup as well

ChiFan24 05-15-2013 12:07 PM

QB: Jaguars
RB: Steelers
WR: Tempted to go Patriots, but I know Amendola will catch 120 balls and make me look stupid, so I'll go Raiders
TE: Jets
OT: Lions, with the Falcons and Steelers giving them a run for their money
OG/C: Jaguars

Not bothering with defense because it's too hard to differentiate by position group and most the answers will be the Raiders anyway.

Im not thrilled about Leveon bell being our second rounder, but i think he can certainly make a case that they arent the worst again this year.

Mike adams and gilbert are gonna be a good set of OTs, im glad they moved on from starks and are going with the youth movement

RaiderNation 05-15-2013 12:42 PM

The Raiders LB group will be much improved this season with the additions we made this off season, as far as DE though I don't see a reliable pass rusher on the squad (Clowney in 2014?). Also the secondary should be improved as well especially if Woodson comes back to Oakland.

No argument for the WR squad, other than Moore we have no proven talent at the position.

robert pancake gallery 05-15-2013 01:25 PM

weeden was not great last year, but it was his rookie season and the team was 19th in passing yards... that said, i'll reserve judgment until the end of the season

If Chandler was ready to go right now, I would agree but since he tore his ACL at the end of the season, we are not sure when he will contribute.

I'm also for JAX at QB.

I dunno, man. If a gun were put to my head and I had to choose a QB from that pool of suck to start for the Bears, I'd take Henne by a mile.

I'm so happy the Bears O-line doesn't get on this list anymore.
