Physical Freaks Who Get Drafted Way Too Early

In this past draft 2 players went in the Top 5 despite having careers that would suggest they should have been late round picks to UFA's because of a lack of production in Dion Jordan and Ezekiel Ansah. Who are the prime candidates to be those players in 2014?

Here is a big one, FSU OLB Christian Jones.

He did lead the team in tackles as a Junior and is tremendous in coverage, but when watching him nothing screams First Round pick (at best 3rd Round because of coverage ability). Yet come the Combine his physique and athleticism will blind NFL scouts and he will go much higher than his play suggests he should.

Who ya got?

Colt Lyerla, TE, Oregon.

32 career catches however his athletic markers are insane. 6'5" 245 lbs but runs in the 4.5 range. That's just nasty. As long as he doesn't have a terrible season he'll be in the conversation in the first two rounds on mere potential alone.

Mass - I'm excited to see him play in the new defense which is more attacking oriented and will take advantage of his natural skills. He won't be chasing TE's 30 yds down the field like with Stoops as much.

I think he should've been put on defense. I think it's smarter to put your physical freaks on defense. It's harder to stop someone than be stopped.

It would have been awesome to see him play MLB and watch him tee off on people, but you have to admit that offensive potential is really intriguing.
