Buckey Brooks' Pre-Season Top 30 (Clowney Isn't #1)

Just maybe a better QB crop than I originally thought.

Brooks gets on my nerves. He said Mike Glennon would be the first QB taken, possibly the first pick overall, and now he's got Logan Thomas and Sooner RB Damien Williams in his top 30, but no Manziel.

How can Aaron Murray be in his top 10 but Johnny football isn't even in Brooks' top 30??

wicket 05-19-2013 11:22 AM

no nix and no tuitt is just weird to me

CashmoneyDrew 05-19-2013 11:55 AM

That list is embarrassing for him.

Are you working for nfl.com ?

Cause all I've seen is you pasting links to this page today.

Very strange, also no:

Marcus Mariota
Aaron Lynch
Sefarian Jenkins
Brett Hundley
Cyrus Kuandijo
Bradley Roby
Colt Lyerla

Any early top 30 or whatever list where there's only 4 underclassmen is a joke.

Damien Williams isn't even the best draft-eligible RB on the roster.

This early nothing can be embarrassing. But yeah this list is bad. I am strongly in the camp that says Clowney will not be the first pick but he is far and away the top prospect. McCarron and Murray in the top ten is laughable.

nepg 05-19-2013 03:19 PM

Bucky Brooks is awful, but I can see having Murray back in the Top 10. We think less of him as a prospect after he didn't make the leap we hoped for in 2012, but he still has the opportunity to do so in 2013.

Halsey 05-19-2013 06:51 PM

I don't have a problem with Bridgewater #1, if Bucky truly believes he's a franchise caliber prospect. Even an elite defensive prospect doesn't have more value than a top QB propect.

He says Johnny football has a noodle for an arm, just no arm strength. Not saying it's true but that is what he says.

Does seem very strange but scouts tend to ignore juniors till they declare just like Scott does.

BallerT1215 05-19-2013 07:43 PM

Logan Thomas in the top 30 is horrible.

Eh, I'd just go ahead and say it's not true.

Yea not true at all. He is only 20 so he is still growing and developing arm and overall strength. I can really only think of Vick as someone that is as nimble and quick as Manziel. It seems that people are already trying to marginalize him and write him off after his RS Freshmen season...what a joke.

He loves it. He's been banging the drum that this is a weak QB class, and changed his mind when Bucky ******* brooks says it's strong.

With the recent draft trends, more and more underclassmen are jumping into the draft and I believe last year was a record for underclassmen. We are seeing guys with 4th or 5th round grades leave school early.

Why? NTs are typically way overrated at this point in the process so Nix not being top 30 makes total sense to me. Personally don't see a 1st rounder when I watch Tuitt as well so that's not a shock to me either.

because they are better defenders than a guy who needed to invent a fake girlfriend and tank his most important game in his career to fall out of the first

dunagan15 05-20-2013 06:48 AM

this list is just terrible

Agreed. I didn't think Te'o should have been taken that high either though, felt that was a reach especially with Brown and Minter still available.
